"Damn!" Kai cursed, seeing the bus driver speeding off.

"Yeah, I don't think he likes us." Micheal rubbed the back of his neck.

"For what?" Kai grumbled fingers messing with her hair.

Micheal looked down at Kai. "I mean, we're the loudest on the bus, our group. Did you not see his glare for the past few days."

Kai thought about it, leaning on her backhand. She instantly retracted, her eyes tearing up slightly. "I guess I can see why," Kai muttered.

"Micheal." The two teens looked over to see a cute little girl on the front lawn. "Did you miss the bus?" She asked, curiously.

Micheal laughed a bit, but then came out to say he did. Kai told her friends to be at their stops earlier since he was trying to skip them. "Oh, this is Lily, my sister."

"Kai." Kai looked over at Micheal. "Tyler will be fine if you tag along to go to school." Micheal smiled.

"What, oh no I'm fine." She motioned to the Honda in her driveway, which her family had for a while now. "I'll go myself." She stated.

Micheal sighed at his stubborn friend. "Come on." Kai went to say something but he grabbed her by her good hand dragging her across the street to their house. "Hey, wait." She stumbled on the stones leading to the front porch as they walked up the few steps and went into the house. Kai stood in the house, not been in there before. She only has been in his grandfather's house. Knowing that large house like it was her own.

"Hey, Uncle Tye." Micheal went to the left of her, to the kitchen. A wall separates her view of her.

"What are you doing here still? Did you skip the bus?" Tyler muttered, setting the eggs down for Lily to take and running next to the kitchen to the dining room.

Kai looked at the photos on the walls and paintings. Most of it was art by Lily and pictures of Tyler, Lily, and Micheal all together, or the two kids.

She smiled, seeing one of Tyler on the stand with other picture frames. "The bus drove off before we got there, and we were going there early."

"What do you mean we?" Tyler asked, walking to go through the entranceway to the living room. He saw Kai clearly standing in the doorway. Her wrist was wrapped in a bandage. Tyler stumbled back, glancing at Micheal.

Micheal only snickered. Tyler looked down at his shirtless body. "Take off your shirt," Tyler commanded.

"No way, go show off your bodily muscles or whatever." Micheal took Tyler's plate of food and sat with Lilly to eat again.

Tyler threaded his fingers through his hair, walking out. "Would you like to sit down, and have a drink or food?"

"Oh I don't eat breakfast—" Kai froze mid-sentence to see Tyler.

He had sweatpants on, that was all. She instantly focuses on his eyes seeing him already staring at her. Her attire not really looking decent, as she didn't even try. She had a baggy anime shirt on with baggy ripped 'boyfriend' jeans. Her hair was clipped up messily, and she decided on a no-makeup look.

So, off the bat, she looked homeless. But when Tyler saw her, he felt his face turn red. Seeing her natural state.

"Would you like a drink then?" He motioned to the kitchen.

"Sure, what do you have?" She asked. Trying not to look at his body. It was a difficult mission, but she was succeeding so far.

"Water, tea, coffee, orange juice, soda and I think we have some cranberry juice."

Kai looked over at Micheal to see his reaction to this, but he was too busy playing with Lilly.

"Orange juice, please." She murmured. Tyler took a glass cup from the cabinet. Then opened the fridge to lean in and get the orange juice. Kai was his ked on how he made everything hot as hell, even pouring her a drink.

Tyler then excused himself and went to his room to get dressed and to look well.

He came out, sitting with her in the living room. "Sorry about, coming over. Micheal forced me to." Tyler looked over a bit sad hearing that. "Not that I didn't want to come over. It's just that I didn't want to be a burden and intrude. You know since yesterday was so..." She stopped, looking down she fiddled with her fingers.

Micheal took Lilly to her room to get ready for daycare.

"It's fine, I know." Tyler looked down, getting Kai's attention. "It's weird being here right now."

Kai bit her lip and thought about what to say. Thinking of anime sceneries that she only cringed at. She didn't want to seem like a weeb right now. So she quickly pushed the thoughts out of her mind

"I think you're pretty dope actually." Tyler looked up at her, seeing her brown eyes averted. "And I'd like to get to know you," Kai muttered, her eyes shifting back at him.

They locked eyes.

Kai smiles lightly at him, and he smiled at her.

"Same." He whispered.

Micheal and Lilly stood behind the wall separating the two of them and Kai and Tyler. The two snickered, looking at one another. They walked to Lilly's room and celebrated quietly.

"Is Kai really going to be our auntie?" Lilly asked, looking up happily bouncing up and down. Her head hair bounced with her.

"Soon." Micheal smiled. "Soon enough."
