"Kai, I've been wondering," Tyler said, his fingers going through her hair.
"Hm." Kai half asleep responded and fell out, trying to stay up, but it was going to fail her. Tyler's scent, body heat, and his relaxing fingers went through her hair while she was under her fuzzy warm blanket. It was everything she loved wrapped in one.
"When's your period? I was only wondering since we have had sex in any different time of the month, and it's not been a present issue." He whispered.
"Oh, it's fine. It was...." Her sentence fell short as her eyes opened up.
She pushed up off of him, looking into his eyes shocked. "I mean, I took a test, it's not wrong right?" She muttered shocked.
"There is a chance of it being wrong," Tyler stated.
Kai gasped, rushing around her room to slip on some pajama pants over her short shorts. "What are you doing?" He asked, watching her take out a hoodie, then she looked down at her bra-less self.
"I need to go to the store and get another one." She explained.
Tyler nodded, getting up. "I'll go in the store then, don't get all dressed up for just a minute to go out." He said, taking the keys off the dresser next to her. "Come on." He kissed her forehead softly.
Kai pouted, tossed her hoodie on the bed, and dropped her pajama pants off of her, sliding in her slides quickly she followed along.
Going up to the store seconds away from a drive, he got out and walked in the doors.
She waited patiently, realizing she was comfortable in the truck now.
Then her mind wandered to the chances of her being pregnant, had she gained weight. She looked down at her stomach, not seeing something bad. It was her normal body. She had to have been pregnant. Missing two periods wasn't just a 'stress thing' or something like that.
She had to have been.
The test was just a formality.
Her eyes teared up, her hand grasping her mouth as she began to cry. Not wanting to be loud, her hands were over her mouth and tried to silence herself. But her hands only made her chock on the air from being cut back.
The door swung open, and a worried Tyler was shown.
"Kai." He jumped in, pulling her to him. "Are you okay?" He asked worriedly.
She held on to him, full-on sobbing.
"I'm scared of it...being pregnant." She cried. Her depression, anxiety, and bipolar would be a factor to knock her down.
Tyler said nothing, it hurt to her hear words. But he understood. Unlike him, he wasn't a student, he wants someone who hasn't gone to college and graduated.
She was in her final year of high school. Then she was going to college.
He didn't know what to say to her—to calm her down.
Watching her sit back down, she looked at the bag, sniffling slightly. "Sorry, it's just I'm worried."
Tyler chuckled, pulling out of the parking lot. "I'll be with you every step."
Kai looked over at him. Those words make her calm down. Simple words, but so effective.
She took his hand, getting interrupted in the sweet moment by his phone ringing. "Can you answer that?" He asked.
She nodded, taking it from the dash noticed the name.
"Her Micheal." She called out.
"Are you two back home?" He asked urgently, fear through his voice.
