"Don't worry about it, how can I not?" Tyler asked, getting off the counter, and walking toward her.
Kai sighed, turning to him. "Are you not getting it?" She asked. "I'm still in school, haven't gone to college either. I work at McDonald's getting paid under minimum wage and you think I'm ready for this? For being a parent?" She glared.
He looked away, walking back to the counter. "I just...thought we would be a family." He whispered.
Kai rolled her eyes, walking to Tyler. "We are. Cause we're doing this." She took his hand. "But I'm scared as fuck." She took in a deep breath.
Tyler pulled her in, shutting his eyes as he took in her coconut scent. "I love you." He whispered.
They went back to his bedroom, and she went into his bathroom. She walked out, holding the stick as they sat with each other on the bed, holding one another's hand. "Are we just going to watch it for the time it...takes in?" She asked, confused about her wording.
"I don't know." He whispered.
Kai looked away from the stick, looking up at the brunette. "So that you know, I'm scared as shit. But I'll try my best." She said.
"Me too." He whispered, kissing her head.
They looked back, and what they suspected was shown. She was indeed pregnant. They looked at each other, a smile growing up on their face.
.....
"Dinner with our families?" Tyler asked his hand mid-way through her hair.
"Yeah, make the announcement that we are together and that we're pregnant." She hummed, leaning her head back to his hand so she gets some comfort. He chuckled, giving her what she wanted as he watched her rest slightly.
"Sure, I can contact my family to come around. We can go out to a restaurant." She pushed up looking excited. "Oh, can we have those parties for the baby? What was it called again?" She hummed, sitting on her legs and thinking about what she was getting to.
Tyler stiffens in a laugh, holding it back. "Baby shower." He whispered.
"Yeah!" She grinned.
Tyler chuckled, getting up as he pounced on her as they fell down on the bed together, holding each other tightly.
"You know, maybe we can get married too while we're at it," Tyler whispered in her ear. Kai looked at him, shocked at what he just suggested, but also shocked at her not minding it. She wanted to. "Ah, don't mind what I said." He muttered.
"I'd like to get married," Kai whispered. Tyler pushed up off of her, looking down at her. She chuckled as she pushed up on her elbows, looking down at her.
"Really?"
Kai nodded. "We can get married."
"December?" He asked.
She smiled. "That seems a bit too early." She pecked his lips.
"How about February, maybe March."
"Yeah, March sounds good—for Spring break."
He couldn't stop smiling, as he began kissing her. Life has been going right, ever since she has come into his life, and he finally felt like he had been living.
Life was finally going in the direction he has dreamed about.
