TW: Anne's sad, surprise party, aaa kazoo

Today was Anne's birthday. Anne always looked forward to her birthday because she was allowed to do things she wouldn't normally be allowed to do. However, all the other queens dreaded Anne Day. Except for Kat, who pretty much idolised her older cousin.

Everyone (except for Kat) woke up early to prepare. Since Anne slept in the same room as Kat, it would be difficult to get Kat out of Anne's grasp without waking her, so they decided to not risk it and do it themselves.

Anna bought a chocolate cake and was spraying it with gold cake spray. Catherine bought party decorations and she and Jane were putting them up in the living room, to surprise Anne when she walks in. Cathy managed to pull herself away from her laptop to wrap up all of Anne's presents, which, when she counted them, added up to fifteen.

Well isn't she spoiled, she thought.

"It's almost seven, and we all know Anne's going to be up early today," Catherine reminded.

"We have everything ready, right?"

"Yeah."

"Let's just go back to bed then."

They left the living room, Jane locking it with a key as she exited. Yes, really, there was a key to this door.

They all crept upstairs and into Jane's bedroom. Before joining them, Catherine slipped into Anne and Kat's room, sliding a spare key under Kat's pillow.

Two hours later, Anne woke up, her hair tangled in Kat's long blue hair. She sat up and yawned, waking Kat up in the process.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNIE!" Kat squealed, hugging Anne (who was still very much half asleep).

"Thank you, KitKat." Anne slid out of bed and stared into the mirror. Kat took the opportunity to slide her hand under her pillow, feeling the key with her fingertips. He snatched it out and slipped it into her bra.

"Looking great for my birthday day," she said sarcastically. Kat looked over at Anne, who looked rather upset.

"Anne, you're beautiful. What do you mean?"

"I don't know... RIGHT OKAY TIME TO GET READY!" Anne shouted and Kat plunged herself into their wardrobe.

"I have the best outfit for you!" Kat pulled out a dress. Anne nodded and took the fit from her.

"You prepared it?"

"Uh, of course. Can I do your hair and makeup? Pleaaaaaaase?"

"Yes, I mean I can't do it myself."

After they both got ready, they went downstairs. Expecting the others to be waiting for Anne, they were taken aback by how quiet it was.

"Where is everyone?"

"I don't know..." Kat said, lying through her teeth.

"Did they... did they forget?"

"Maybe. Or maybe they just aren't up yet..."

Anne's face dropped. She walked around the house, checking to see if they had prepared anything, but she didn't find anything.

"Kat, there's no point. They probably forgot."
"Have you checked every room?"

"No, but there's no use."

"Maybe check them all, just in case," Kat suggested.

Anne did another round of the house. Meanwhile, Kat snuck off to the bathroom to text the others.

KatMeow: She's losing hope.

Janie: Tell her to not give up.

Cathy: We don't have time for a motivational speech.

Anna: It's fine, just get her to the living room. We're waiting in there, ready.

KatMeow: Okidoki

Anne finally reached the living room.

"Kat, the living room door won't open..." she called to Kat, who came running straight after her.

"Ah, yes, I have the key to that."

"There's a key to the living room?"

"Even I didn't know that."

Kat plunged her hand into her bra, taking the key and jamming it in the lock, opening the door.

Anne walked in. The room was pitch black. The blinds were closed and the lights were off.

"Hello?"

Kat switched the light on, and the others jumped up from behind the sofa.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNE!" They all screamed.

"Wait, you remembered?"

"Of course we did. Come on, how can we forget about Anne Day?"

"Is it Kat in on this?"

"Oh yeah, she knew about the whole plan."

Anne turned to Kat, who gave her a rub on the back. "All for a good cause, Annie."

Anne sat on the sofa, surrounded by all her gifts. The others also sat around her, excited about her reaction.

The first gift was from Cathy.

"You've been asking for these for ages, so here they are. I know you love green, so I tried my best."

Anne ripped the wrapping paper to reveal a shoe box. Shuffling the lid open, her eyes lay upon a set of duo-wheeled emerald green Heelys.

"YOU DID NOT..." Anne screamed, in awe. She picked a shoe up and gazed at it. "Cathy I love you!" She dropped the shoe and the box and lunged at Cathy, who immediately wrapped her arms around her.

"Of course, Anne. I love you too."

The next gift was from Catherine.

"I went to Spain to get this."

Anne pulled the string, the paper revealing a jewellery box. She took the lid off. There lay a necklace of pure gold, ruby jewels embellishing the treasure.

"Cath... this is beautiful..." Catherine leant forward to put it on Anne and smiled.

"You look beautiful, mi dulce princesita," Catherine praised.

The next was from Kat.

"What's this?" she asked, confused, pulling it out of the bag.

"Kazoo."

Many groans filled the room.

"What's a Kazoo?"

There was more uproar.

"I'll show you another time."

And even more complaints followed.
