TW: Aramour for once, yes I haven't updated in a week but I have a stash of stories I keep for when I don't have time to write and feel the need to update, Jane's upset, Catalina eats sadly

Jane cried. And cried. And cried. And cried.

Not even Anna's impressions could cheer her up.
Not even Kat's cuddles.
Not even Cathy's short stories.
And not even Anne's jokes.

Jane was upset. Upset, because her girlfriend flew to Spain without her.

Without her.

Which could mean only two things. One – she was cheating on her, or two – something really important showed up.

Jane never envisaged her life to be so difficult without the love of her life. But what hurts, even more, was how Catalina never explained why she went, nor did she even attempt to phone her.

To put it in perspective, it was the fact that she declined all of Jane's calls.

Jane never discussed her queries with the other girls, especially Anna and Anne who seemed to know what Catalina was up to. But this didn't change her mood in front of the others.

When Jane was upset, Cathy was upset.
When Cathy was upset, Anne was upset.
When Anne was upset, Kat was upset.
When Kat was upset, everyone felt even more upset.

So now everyone was upset that Jane couldn't see her girlfriend.

It wasn't even that long (according to Cathy, who had been single her whole life). Three weeks (to her) was nothing.

But Jane wasn't Cathy.

Jane felt the withdrawal effect of not having her love sleep right beside her every night.
Jane felt the withdrawal effect of not having someone to kiss and hold romantically.
Jane felt the withdrawal effect of not being able to say I love you and getting one back.

By the fourth week, Jane had had enough. She looked at herself in her room and refused to come out. Not even for breakfast (which shook Anna to the core because breakfast was her favourite meal of the day).

She curled up on her bed and stared at the wall, wondering what Catalina was doing at the minute in Spain and whether she thought about her as much as she did. Whether she knew how Jane was feeling.

She'd occasionally let Cathy sit beside her, Cathy acting like a therapy dog for Jane. Jane had learned that sometimes someone's company can make you feel better, even if it's just silence.

Towards the middle of the fourth week, however, Anne walked into her room (which she no longer bothered to lock).

"What are you doing here?"

"Your Catalina's home."

Jane didn't seem excited, nor happy, much to Anne's confusion. She shook her head and turned away, kneading her fist into her pillow as she tried to hold back her tears.

Anne stroked her hair and left the room, closing the door behind her.

--------------------------

Anne shook her head, walking back down the stairs and into the living room where Catalina was waiting.

"I'm sorry, but she's refusing to come down."

Catalina sighed.

"Why don't you go talk to her, whilst we unpack for you?" Cathy suggested. Catalina agreed, standing up and walking up to Jane's room.

She opened the door, noticing Jane's tiny figure rising and falling in the dark room.

"Juanita, mi niña," she whispered, stepping inside the room, squinting.
