Pride Parade - Ex-wives

TW: Parrward because I can't write a single story without Katherine, it's a sad story, blood and murder, slightly distressing, I wrote this a few weeks ago and I remember not enjoying the topic but here's what I have

"Cathy! Cathy! Have you got everything?"

Cathy ran down the stairs, picking Kat up and swirling her around.

"Where are you going?" Anne asked, passing the two very excited girls.

"For pride, we are celebrating by attending the pride parade. Would you like to come with Catalina?"

"No, we'd rather spend the day at home with each other. Do have fun though, and I'll see if we can plan something for when you get back home."

"Yes, and I'll bring out my camera for a little photoshoot for you two," Anna suggested, referring to her professional photography skills.

"That would be awesome. Can we get you anything?"

"If you see any rainbow bagels, get me a couple," Anna smiled, picking up her makeup bag and digging out her rainbow eyeshadow palette. Cathy and Kat gave her a confused look. "What? You're going to a pride parade without dolling up?"

"We thought the rainbow attire was enough."

"Absolutely not. Come here. I'll paint some rainbows on your cheeks, or pride flags. A lesbian and rainbow flag for Kat, and an asexual and lesbian for Cathy?"

They nodded, sitting down and pulling their braids to the side so that Anne and Anna could work their magic.

Anne kissed Kat's cheek. "You know I love you right?" she asked.

"Of course, and I love you too."

Anne dabbed her eyelids gently, and painted the stripes on her cheeks, kissing each one after doing so. Anna did the same on Cathy at record speed, and in no time, they were both ready to leave.

"Have fun girls, and stay safe," Catalina called from the living room.

"We will! Bye!" Kat squealed, dragging Cathy out the door with her.

It was both Kat and Cathy's first time at a pride parade, and Kat had to admit, she didn't understand why Lina told them to stay safe. She shook it off as Lina was protective, and continued skipping with Cathy. They both had their arms around each other, grinning from ear to ear.

"I love you so much," Cathy turned to Kat as they continued to walk with the crowd. "I may not be enough for you sexually, but I really try to be a good girlfriend to you. In case I can't show it enough, I really am in love with you."

Kat turned to Cathy.

"Cathy, I don't care about the sex or anything like that. I love you for you, and only you. And that's the reason I love you. You're you, and I can't love anyone else because they wouldn't be you. You're the light of my world, fuck that, you are my world. You make me smile every day. You make me happy. You give me the reason to wake up every day and know it's going to be a good one. Because you'll be there, and I'll get to see you. I love myself because you love me, and you've only helped me grow strong enough to rise above. And that's why I love you. You bring out the best in me. I bring out the best in you."

People around them who heard Kat's speech gave a few "awws", and Kat blushed when she realised how many people heard her.

"I love you," Cathy whispered, as they both stopped for a kiss. The kiss was only meant to last a peck, but Kat grabbed onto the back of her head, pulling her in for a deeper kiss. Both girls began to make out, ignoring the pride parade entirely.

Being so lost in thought, Cathy failed to notice the man standing behind Kat, aiming a gun at her back. Well, she did, but only a tad too late. The man had an evil smile, his finger raised over the trigger. His smile only grew wider when saw that Cathy had noticed him, and he took a stance.
