"Millie... wake up."

"I'm up, Da," Millie giggled, snuggling into her husband's warmth.

"But get up to make me get up!"

"Your mind works in weird and wonderful ways, Damon. Ways which I'll never understand."

She stood up and walked into the bathroom to wake herself properly, leaving Damon alone in the bed.

She walked back in, stripping herself of her bedclothes and dressing into outdoor ones.

"Can we cancel?"

"Absolutely not!" Millie scowled, ripping her t-shirt off.

"Nice boobs. But seriously Millie! Are you really going to put yourself through an hour of listening to him blab on about god knows what?"

"Da, we're doing this for Aimie. Not for John."

Damon sighed, pulling himself out of the bed. He joined his wife in front of the mirror, wrapping his arms around her from behind.

"Only for Aimie," he confirmed, his breath tickling Millie's skin as he rested his face in the crook of her neck.

"Only. I don't care about John at all! The whole point of doing this is to check on Aimie."

"I bloody hope she's okay."

"We all do. Everyone has so many questions."

"Mhm... I admire the way you care for absolutely everyone in this world, even if you hate them."

"Who said that?"

"You don't?"

"Pfft, if I did then I wouldn't be crap-mouthing John, would I?"

"Yeah, but you're doing that because you care about Aimie. Why should you care about her if she made you feel like trash?"

"For one day, Da," she smiled, kissing his cheek. "She made me feel like a queen for three years before that. I don't think that one day justifies the three years."

"Are you trying to rub it in? Guess what Mils? We've been together for three years too."

"I think I know that."

"How long was she single after you broke up?"

"She got back with Genesis for a few months but I think she broke up with Aimie... then she was single for a very long time, and now John."

"John doesn't deserve her."

"Neither did I."

"Depending on how high her pedestal is, maybe not," he agreed.

"She's a gem to us all."

"She's too precious for this world. She shouldn't suffer the heartbreak."

"I disagree. Although it may be deeply upsetting to see her break down over something, being precious doesn't mean being shielded from the harsh realities of the world."

"You always have a point," Damon laughed, running his hands down her sides. "It's almost ten, we need to leave soon!"

"Alright, I'll see you downstairs in half an hour and then we'll go."
