The days of written exams passed by and from what Kokoro could tell, everyone had done well. Of course, Aizawa was persistent on neutralising her quirk, but then again, she was abnormally sharp to begin with. The timer for the last exam was nearing to an end, and the class were either scribbling away to quickly finish, or sitting back and relaxing.

"All right, put your pencils down. Last person in each row, bring down the answer sheets." Aizawa instructed. The green haired girl complied and walked with Yaoyorozu, Todoroki and Uraraka who were also in the back row.

"Thanks so much for all your help!" Mina shouted.

"I didn't even leave anything blank this time!" Kaminari yelled.

Hajime smiled at their gratitude. "We should do it again sometime." She suggested.

"Indeed, my grand hall has enough room for the whole class to join." Momo agreed.

'Now's my chance.' Denki thought, unknowing that the telepath had already sensed his plan.

"So Hajime..." He began. "I was wondering if you're free tonight? We could go out, maybe get some coffee?" He asked.

The mind reader didn't know what to say, she wanted to decline, but she knew his feelings would be a little hurt by her usual bluntness. For once, she'd tried to be social and this is where it got her. "I'm sorry, but I'm actually busy tonight." She formed a small excuse. "I've already arranged plans with Shinsou."

"Oh, well, uh... have a good time I guess." The boy awkwardly walked away. Before uttering some words in his head. 'So I guess those two are dating'

"No, we're not. Why does everyone keep thinking that?" She argued before finally realising her own mistake. She didn't realise Kaminari wasn't speaking aloud, it should've been obvious to her, but his internal voice sounded identical to his external. With no lips to read, and an already irritated stand on everyone's assumptions on Shinsou, she'd messed up.

"Huh?" Denki asked.

'Oh god, please be stupid, please be stupid.' Kokoro pleaded to herself.

"You mean you aren't friends with Shinsou? Are you being forced to hang out with him?" He asked.

'Thank god.' The girl thought. "No, no, I thought you said something else. My bad." She raised her hands and walked away.

Now that her small mishap with Denki had been solved, it was time for a new mission entirely, confronting Bakugo. It was a risk itself, and revealing her quirk wasn't always a stunning moment for her to show off. The boy would obviously be cautious around her and it probably make him slightly uncomfortable. But it was a risk she had to take. If she was going to pass the practical exam, she needed both parties to get along for five minutes.

"Bakugo, we need to talk." She said once she caught sight of his spiked blonde hair.

'What does this loser want?' He turned around, not even giving her the physical indication that he was going to speak.

"It's actually about the practical exam, I was hoping we could form a strategy." She informed the boy, who looked more pissed off than ever, judging by his thoughts, he was.

"What the hell! I don't want help from a pathetic half-ass like you. If you want to be my competition, then you better step up and do it yourself." He spat and continued walking. It was now Hajime's turn to be angry, however, her anger would prove to be much more consequential than her classmates.

"I was actually planning to give you a heads up, my version of saying that we're both gonna need it for this exam. But since you clearly don't want my help, I'm going to win it myself. You won't mind, will you?" She smirked, but truthfully, they needed to be a team if they were to stand a chance against All Might.

'She acts as though she's all tough, but when I first saw her, she was crying like a little kid.' Bakugo thought, piquing Kokoro's interests. So the girl looked deeper into his head and found exactly what she'd sought to cover up.

The incident.

She may have been on the news that day, but she didn't want to be. What else was she supposed to do? Ren and Hina constantly bugged her and insisted that it would bring clarity. However, the telepath knew that they only cared about the Hajime's reputation. They weren't wealthy, well known, or even popular, but they did want a future beyond Kokoro's mistake.

"That interview was a year ago, I'm not that naïve anymore." The girl said to Katsuki, he was slightly beginning to turn away but looked back towards Hajime when she continued their conversation. "Bring it up again and you'll regret it." She added.

'So mind reading, huh?' He said in his head, acting as though he'd solved the case. Which in a way, he had.

"Don't get too cocky, I'm aware that it's weak but it gives me access to a whole world of blackmail." She warned and stormed away to meet with her friend. Shinsou was probably the only person in the school who could calm her down. His quirk and upbringing were similar to her own, yet so simplistic, she was envious. So when she found him sitting in their corner table, she instantly sat beside him and rested her head in the palm of her hand.

"Hey?" He greeted, slightly confused at the usually confident girls state. "You okay, Kokoro?"

"To be honest, no." Hajime answered. "Just got reminded of a harsh truth that I've tried to run away from for a year."

Hitoshi was taken back by Hajime's honestly, normally she was so sarcastic but now, she was upfront. "We can go for a coffee later, if you want? To celebrate our exams being over." He elaborated, offering a new topic for the girl to hyper fixate on. It was Shinsou's own way of telling her that she didn't need to tell him, because judging by her actions, it was a touchy subject.

"That'd be nice, I actually told someone I was hanging out with you anyways. As an excuse." She joked.

"Ouch, demoted from a friend to an excuse. I thought you were better than that." He placed his hand over his heart in exaggeration.

"Unfortunately, I'm not. But you did save me from tutoring a guy who has this huge crush on me."

'In that case then maybe I'm glad I was an excuse.' Shinsou thought but quickly remembered his mistake.

"I mean, you said all the guys in your classes were disgusting, right? Wouldn't want one of those weirdos targeting my only friend." He rephrased.

"Sure." Kokoro smirked as the bell rang and alerted everyone to get to their next class. Hajime took that as her cue, and got out of her seat. "Well, wish me luck. Also, I'll text you about the café." She said whilst taking her next steps towards her future. It was a bit of a stretch but this exam meant a lot to her, it could potentially keep her in the hero course, the others didn't have to share the same worries.
