The summer break was coming to an end, and Kokoro had been on house arrest for weeks. Occasionally, Hitoshi would visit, even Ren had warmed up to him, everyone enjoyed his company. So overall, her summer break was, at most, satisfactory. On the plus side, she got to stay alone, surrounded by people she liked and could tolerate. However, the start of the break still scarred her; physically and mentally.
"Ko, your teachers are here." Hina shouted up the stairs, and Hajime immediately put her bookmark in her page and hurried down the stairs. She knew they were coming, and she'd tried to convince her parents to let her continue the course, but they were still reluctant. In their eyes, their daughter would be better in a safer job, like a doctor or lawyer, even a teacher.
"I thought All Might was coming?" Ren questioned the lone teacher, but in a way, Kokoro was grateful it was only Mr Aizawa there, All Might always found a way to make her feel like a child. Which was slightly demeaning.
"He's with another student." The telepath explained after reader Aizawa's mind.
"Yeah, sorry about that. But I thought it would be better if I came alone." The educator apologised.
"Oh? And why's that?" Hina asked, a little concerned.
"Because what I'm about to say is different to the speeches I've been giving other students parents. Including Bakugo's. I think it's best we all sit down."
The whole family were confused, even the mind reader, she enjoyed having a sense of knowledge but her teacher was using his quirk, she was oblivious to whatever he was referring to. But instead of protesting, they all gathered around the dining room table, drinking coffee that Ichiro had kindly prepared.
"Am I getting kicked out of the hero course?" Kokoro panicked, jumping to the worst conclusions possible.
"Of course not, if anything, you proved how well you acted in that situation. Without your messages, we would have taken a lot longer." Aizawa reassured. "However, I heard about your interrogation with the police after the attack, that's what's different." He continued.
"Excuse me, but the letter you sent said that she'd be moving into a U.A facility. What makes this safer than the other times villains broke into places that U.A guaranteed secure." Hina interrupted and got straight to the point. "Ko said a few valid reasons, but what do you have to say?"
"It will allow her to be safer because she'll have the best security around. Last time, we weren't prepared for an attack, but this is us being prepared. With the technology we have, the villains don't stand a chance of invading. This is the best option for your daughter." He answered, but Ren was still hesitant.
"So Ko will be sleeping under the same roof as teenage boys? What methods do you have in place for any disturbances?"
'Is that really his top concern.' Aizawa thought.
"Ko told me about the hot springs in camp, some little shit decided to try and climb the wall the sneak peaks. Luckily, she stopped him and placed an image of his mother into his head. Otherwise, we would press charges." He complained, rightfully so, all the Hajime's hated Mineta.
'She did what?'
"Self defence." She answered. "I hold no regrets."
The teacher shrugged and understood her reasoning, he too wished he had the power to strike fear into his students, which he did anyways. "To answer your question, the boys and girls will be on separate sides of the building, the only way to cross the sides is to go through the common room. Don't worry, we'll install CCTV in the corridors to make sure no one is sneaking around. I assure you, if I catch anyone doing so, I won't hesitate to suspend them."
This was a good answer for Ren, a one he could agree with. "And what about visits? I've grown quite fond of Hitoshi Shinsou over the past few weeks. Will he be allowed to visit?"
"What are you doing?" Kokoro said to her dad, who smiled in return.
"Visiting on weekends only, and no one stays past curfew." Aizawa replied, Ren nodded, winking at the telepath.
"So can I go or not?" She turned to her parents in hopes of them agreeing. But before they could answer, Aizawa interjected.
"Actually, there's a requirement you must meet in order to continue your studies at U.A." He began, scaring the girl. If he was going to ask her to confess, then she'd have to refuse, again.
"Requirement? Or demand?" She quirked a brow.
"More like advise." Eraser head responded. "Detectives Kuboyasu and Tsukauchi replayed the recording of the interrogation to me. And advised that you should compensate for your experience. From what I understand, your parents have been trying to convince you as well, but you've declined each time."
"I've been busy training, and will stay busy. I don't intend to go to therapy." Kokoro objected. She'd strengthened herself like always. She'd gotten so much stronger over break. So why did they insist she went to therapy?
"It's not a request. If you want to be a hero, then that's the price to pay." Aizawa drilled reality into her head. "I didn't realise how much of a drawback your quirk had on your wellbeing, but now I know, I will do everything I can to make sure you can achieve your dream the same way as the others. So for your own good, consider it."
She didn't want to. The therapist would only make things worse. She'd be able to see all of her flaws through the mind of someone who knew she wasn't normal. However, her dream was right in front of her, could she really be so weak?
"Your teachers right." Hina comforted. "You've worked your whole life to be a hero, aced every test and fought every villain. Are you going to let this be your undoing? The Kokoro I know wouldn't give up so easily."
Hajime thought for a moment, and Hina was right. She'd worked and trained forever, Aizawa agreed when he was at the press conference, it wouldn't make sense for her to give up. Besides, she could easily lie her way through therapy, or even tell the truth if necessary.
"Fine, I'll do it."
"I was hoping that would be your answer. So, your sessions will be held once every two days and last for half an hour, or an hour, depending on your schedule. It would be best for these sessions to take place in your dorm room, we can't risk you leaving and taking the same predictable route alone. Is this okay?"
"Sure." She said, less enthusiastic than she'd wanted to sound.
