Training had finally began for the hero students and some were thrilled, however, Hajime was not. She'd read the minds of the instructors and knew exactly what they had in mind. Torture. Their goal was to strengthen quirks, meaning they'd put the body under strict conditioning to achieve progress.
"Good morning class." Aizawa alerted the sleepy students. "Today we'll begin a training camp that will increase your strength. Our goal is to increase your skills exponentially so that each of you earn a provisional license. This will allow you to face the dangers that continue to fester in the darkness. Proceed carefully." The teacher explained, then tossing a ball towards Bakugo. "Look alive Bakugo, try throwing that for me."
"Yeah sure, like in the fitness test." The boy agreed. Hajime wasn't there for the event but she gathered information to catch up.
"Yeah sure. When you first started school you're record was 705.2 metres. Let's see if you've improved." Aizawa taunted already the knowing the results as well as the telepath.
"Oh I get it! You're checking our progress." Mina exclaimed.
"A lots happened to us the last three months, maybe he can throw it a whole mile now." Sero assumed.
"Cmon, get it Bakugo!" Kirishima cheered on.
"I've got this. No one blink." The boy bragged. "GO TO HELL!" He shouted before throwing the ball with the reinforcement of his quirk.
"That was 709.6 metres." The teacher stated, shocking everyone and forcing disappointment, in Bakugo's case, it was humiliation.
"That's it? Kinda disappointed."
"You've had a single semester at UA. One of you hasn't even had that long. But due to your various experiences, all of you have definitely improved, though those improvements have mostly been limited to mental and technical skill, with a slight increase in stamina thrown in along the way. As you can see, you've quirks themselves haven't improved much on a fundamental level. That's why we're now going to focus on improving your powers." Aizawa smirked. "This'll be so hard, you'll feel like your dying. Let's hope you all survive."
"He's exaggerating." Hajime muttered to her terrified friends.
'Dammit, she just called my bluff.'
"Oh really?" The teacher overheard, striking fear into the hearts of everyone. "In that case, we'll set you up first."
"Yes sir." The telepath answered.
"Good, Mandalay, do you have any suggestions?" He asked the hero.
"I have a few." The cat-like woman smirked and explained hero exercise. "I heard you had a revelation with your quirk? Let's try and use that as our target." She began. "We'll set you up in the group with strength quirks, you'll be fighting them wearing a blindfold to keep your mind stimulated. The catch is, you won't be able to counter attack, only dodge. This will increase your stamina and encourage your body to use the new quirk. Their strength alone is enough to drive out results."
"Great, so I'm going to get punched by people with superhuman strength for the next week." Kokoro faked a smile and walked over to 'tigers boot camp'. It wouldn't be long until her auntie guided class B to the camp, then she'd finally get to tell her about her new friends.
"Let's see, who shall we pair you up with." Mandalay searched and noticed a telepathic message from Aizawa. "Midoriya." She decided. "You'll be working on controlling your strength while fighting Kokoro, if you mess up, she'll be in trouble." The woman warned.
From then on, most of the class were put through torture, literally. Their bodies were put to the test and their quirks often led to some damage. Even Hajime felt the pain, using her quirk led to headaches which were inconvenient at the most. However, that was the least of her troubles.
'I don't want to hurt her.' Midoriya panicked as the two got into a fighting stance.
"You think I can't dodge a few punches?" Hajime quirked a brow. "I've been training my combat abilities my whole life, so don't doubt me."
"No, that's not it." Midoriya assured. "It's just it's rude to hit a girl and your wearing a blindfold so it will feel like I'm using you as a punching bag. Not to mention the fact that I have a strength quirk and you're not even allowed to counterattack." He mumbled loud enough to annoy several people.
"All is forgiven, just get on with it." Her eye roll was unseen but her sarcastic tone made up for its absence.
"Ok." He said. 'One for all, 5% Detroit Smash!' The boy echoed through his head, forcing Hajime to make limited movement in order to avert the punch. She needed to conserve her stamina and predict the exact location of the punch with her mind, so it was a reasonable exercise. Upon realising he missed Hajime by a hair, Midoriya tried to send another punch from the opposite side, receiving the same outcome a second time.
"Cmon, you can do whatever fancy shit you like, don't make this too easy." Kokoro taunted, provoking Midoriya to send a fake punch and a secondary backup punch. As usual, the telepath pivoted in the direction of the fake punch and avoided the real one, after that, she stood behind Midoriya's back, following his movements so that she'd remain unseen.
Unfortunately, her victory didn't last long and the freckled boy managed to catch a glimpse of her, causing him to pivot around and try to kick her off her feet. On instinct, she jumped and ducked to avoid his next attack.
"Cmon Kokoro, at least try and use your new power." The mind reader heard Pixie-Bob say from close by.
"Why? I'm doing fine." Hajime argued, and dodged another attack effortlessly.
"Midoriya, right?" She asked the boy. "Your quirk gives you enhanced speed too, speed that even Hajime doesn't have. So use that to your advantage."
"Seriously, you're sabotaging me?!" Hajime protested but soon found that she didn't have time. Midoriya's attacks were now quicker than before, and harder to dodge in time, Pixie was right, she couldn't match his speed. As the attacks grew quicker, Kokoro felt as though it was all one blow, or at least a ton of instruments banding together before the big finale.
Once again, Midoriya sent a quick, which Hajime jumped over, however, when she was in the air, Midoriya managed to land his first shot, to her face and the girl toppled to the ground. She could taste blood and gathered from her quirk that he'd bust her lip, but it wasn't severe, so she kept fighting.
Although she had a high pain tolerance, the injuries she had faced weren't getting any better. In fact, with her energy decreasing, she was beginning to feel the effects of her injuries more and more. She was exhausted, but she had to keep fighting. She could sense her aunt around the corner and didn't want her to see her so weak.
Just as Ragdoll entered the camp, Kokoro felt a sudden urge, she didn't want to win, she needed to. Suddenly, Midoriya sent another hit towards her with his enhanced speed, but this time was different. A familiar power surged through her veins, she could feel it pricking behind her eyes and saw the darkness of the blindfold glow yellow.
She'd done it.
Midoriya was frozen, his entire nervous system petrified.
