"We break and the cracks never mend."

"Lavender! This is a dark shade of purple, we need lavender!" The worker quickly scrambled to take down the linens, apologizing profusely, "The drapes must be a combination of white and rouge pink, and these beads? They are to dangle near the curtains!" Jeevika added, fussing over. She looked around the hall, and felt a blinding rush of tempestuous emotion.

Soft hues, delicate lighting, bunch of peonies, and colorful drapes covered the chamber in an aesthetic enfold. The chandeliers, envisioned pastels, hanging macramé and decorative rugs gave the wedding decor a aesthetic, vintage and modern yet elegant ambience altogether. "I specifically ordered for silver candelabra. Why is this a shade of white?-"

"Mama, take a breath." Mehak stated, smiling softly at the lush decor, dazzling lights and the mild fragrance of fresh flowers. "The preparations would be perfect, but your health might deter if you continue running around like this." She dragged Jeevika to the side, making her sit on the chair, before offering a glass of juice to her.

"I don't know, Muku. There is just so much to do. And your father is of no use!" Jeevika grumbled, clearly annoyed at her husband, "Irresponsible, idiot of a man!" She added. Mehak stifled a giggle, "They will reach soon."

Jeevika fell silent for a moment, "Will you be okay? It's been two years since you last met Aksh."

Mehak looked at the golden glowing chandeliers, "It would be fine, mama. Even he would be meeting me after two years. We...both would be okay." She breathed in. I hope. The last part was a silent plea to her own heart.

"I won't marry you! The wedding is canceled right at this moment- Mom! Mehak di!" Ruhh stalked towards them, yet mumbling curses at her phone and from the looks of it, not letting the person on the other side speak.

"Here comes our grumbling bride." Jeevika refrained herself from sighing. Since her husband wasn't there to bear the ever growing tantrums of Ruhh, she was at the receiving end all the time. She had no idea how Vendra handled them all, with their demands fulfilled.

"What took away the smiling glow from your face?" Mehak questioned, enjoying the pre wedding jitters of Ruhh a little more than she should. Ruhanika shoved the phone in her hand, pouting hard, "My supposed groom is making me unhappy. Let's change him, we still have time." Anurag's panicked yell could be heard right after.

"Do you have anyone in your mind, ma?" Mehak played along, noticing the way Ruhh's eyes widened. "Yes, we do have a lot of suitable options." Jeevika caught over upon the act.

"No, no! How can you agree to that?" Ruhh whined, her voice matching with the protests of Anurag's, who was connected on call, and yet ignored.

"Who was proposing the idea? Let's search a new groom-"

Ruhh sighed, "No... This groom is perfect. No search is required. Don't take me seriously!" She got back to whining again, "He wants me to wear no make up, claiming that I look prettier in my natural skin."
