Mehak Singhania's P.O.V

"Mehak." Someone shook me slightly, disturbing my peaceful state. I tried to follow that voice, but my brain was throbbing painfully inside my head, making all the nerves ache inside. My eyelids felt too heavy to open, as if blocks of weight have been kept over them, preventing me to open them.

"Mehak... Uttho" [Mehak, wake up.] Someone urged me to get up again, while I felt few water drops sprinkling on my face. Putting force on my eyelids, I parted my lashes slowly. I found Vihaana Kaki [aunt] along with Ruby, Sujain, and Akhil standing there, while gazing at me with serious concerned eyes.

"Mehak why were you lying on the floor? Are you okay? Did you faint?" Vihaana Kaki bombarded me with questions, while Ruby and Sujain helped me to sit up. My whole body jolted with the ache rising in my veins. They were unknowingly touching my back to support me, which made me tremble with pain. The bluish fresh scars of jabs on my back stung agonisingly. I caught myself just in time before wincing out aloud.

I looked up at them blankly, not knowing how to respond to their questions.

"Mehak are you fine?" This time Ruby asked me, while keeping a hand over the lower of back, I flinched visibly at the nip of the hurt caused.

I sighed in pain, while nodding in a slight yes.

"Nothing Kaki, it must be because of weaknesses." I slowly whispered, just audible enough for them to hear.

"You should rest then, beta." Waving a caressing hand on my hairs, Kaki mumbled softly.

"I'll kaki." I assured, while knowing well that's most probably a lie.

"Should I inform Aksh Baba?" I immediately refused the offer, to scared to even think about him.

"No, he has some important work at office. I'm fine." Desperately, I fumbled out.

"But-"

"I'm fine Vihaana Kaki." I stressed. She looked skeptical but sighed knowing I'm not gonna give up.

"Okay my child. We're leaving-" I looked up at them in confusion, leaving where? "-Aksh baba (son)  has asked us to shift to Singhania Mansion, to take of his parents, since we are his trusted employees." She completed.

My blood ran cold in my veins. The mere fact that there's is a possiblity that he did this to have me alone in his mansion, and break me some more, had my insides clenching hard. The help, and all the working staff we have in our home, are being shifted, even Kaki. The terror inside me was rising heights, somehow having the idea that it's planned by him. I fisted my hands, to stop myself from trembling.
