"Our fashion sector has been showing a graph of constant increase in growth rate, but the investment to profit ratio is very less, even though we are targeting the huge portion of the population." Piyush showed the graph on the screen, and pointed at the various points. "We have expected to double the investment by the end of the year, but we've only reached half of it so far." Piyush completed, showing the brands we had introduced in the market.
"The data says-" Aksh started, but Mr Sen, one of the board members chimed in.
"Aksh, we know that you will be capable to find the solution, but let's give a chance to our new CEO and see what Mrs Singhania has to say? After all she is in the command right now, it'd be rude to not ask her opinion." Mr Sen sounded so obnoxious, and his smirk made it obvious that he was trying to insult Mehak. Unable to hear the mock in his tone, Aksh was ready to leash out.
"Yes, sure Mr Sen." Raghuvendra eyed Aksh to keep his calm, and answered him. He smiled at Mehak, and motioned her to speak. Looking at all the sets of eyes, gawking at her, contempting her words, she breathed out.
"Thank you for being so uselessly concerned about me, Mr Sen." Aksh smirked at the attitude reply from her, slow hit in the start itself.
"About the slow growth of our fashion sector, I'd like to suggest different set of approach towards our customers. Instead of targeting the huge portion, let's target the smaller portion-" Mr Sen snorted.
"What sort of joke is this? I think our CEO didn't hear the problem correctly. We've to increase the growth rate, not make us bankrupt." Aksh so wanted to punch him for his mocking words again.
"Patience." Mehak offered a polite smile. "We can crack jokes a little later. Now I'd like to explain my perspective," She looked at him pointedly, "If only you'd let me speak without interrupting, Mr Sen." Mr Sen smirked, and looked away.
"We've been targeting the 80% of the population, which comes under average or middle class section, or even below. If we increase the quality of our brand and make it reach to perfection, and launch series of new designs in the market, and increase the prices, we can target the rest 20% of the population," Mehak paused, "which belongs to the elite class, and have 80% of the wealth. Our focus is on increasing the growth rate, and the major money lies in the pockets of elites." Mehak finished, clenching her hands under the table.
She didn't know, if the idea presented by her will be accepted or not, but she didn't let that waver the neutral expressions on her face. Everyone paused, almost gawking, before her eyes fell on the Raghuvendra, who was beaming with pride in his eyes. She froze. Why was he looking so proud? Cause of her? But why? He was the one who threatened her, made her feel helpless, so what was this?
