"Hello, Mr Han. You're early!" the lady from yesterday said."Good morning, Mrs. Son."
"Would you like to eat something? Your shift starts in fifteen minutes. I can get you something, for free!" the manager said, showing a bright smile.
"Sure, a cheesecake would be great, thank you."
Some people would say it's weird to have something sweet for breakfast, but who really cares? Cheesecake can be eaten at any time of the day.
Cheesecake is amazing, probably my favourite thing in the whole world.
After finishing the cake she has brought me while smiling constantly to myself, I went to the counter ready to start my shift.
Since it was Friday, students were approaching the cafe.
"I'd like a muffin, please!"
"One cup of tea, thanks!"
"Water."
Just like that, I served the numerous students who kept on coming.
Until, two specific boys caught my eye. There was a blonde boy, with long hair. Beside him stood a shorter brunette guy. Both of them looked ethereal.
Could they be models?
Not realizing I spaced out, I didn't see them coming right in front of me. Embarrassing, Jisung.
"Hello?" the blonde spoke, not before clearing his throat. I noticed the mole under his eye, his lips were quite big and he was wearing blue contact lenses.
"What would you like to order?" my cheeks flushed and I quickly bowed, apologizing.
"Two iced americanos, please!"
"Name?" I said as it came out as a quiet mumble.
"Sorry?" the brunette asked.
We exchanged quick looks, both confused.
"Your..names? To write them down." I looked at him, scanning his facial features. His nose was very sharp and his eyes were big. It looked like his bottom lip was smaller than his upper one.
"Oh! Right, sorry! Minho and Hyunjin."
"All right."
Watching them from afar was beyond creepy, but I couldn't help it. Both of them were handsome.
Seeing them leave made me release a sigh I didn't know I was holding. Deep down, I hoped I would see them again.
"Han, your shift is over. You can go back home." Mrs Son said, catching me off guard.
"Sorry! Did I scare you?"
"No, not at all. Also, just call me Jisung. No need to be so formal."
"All right, but call me Chaeyoung from now on!" she exclaimed, giving me a sweet smile.
"Well then, Jisung, you're off to go. You accomplished so much on your first day." she's nice.
"Thank you."
I took my bag, leaving the cafe. The slanting rays of the setting sun gave a warm, orange tinge to the sky. The clouds were painted in ever-changing colours, giving a sense of comfort.
It was really beautiful.
I walked home, enjoying the presence of the stars that were now slightly doting across the sky, sparkling like a little kid's eyes waiting for ice cream.
Moments like these meant a lot to me. Being alone, just me, my thoughts and nature— it felt just right.
As I advanced walking I noticed a tiny store, placed on the right side of the road. And so I kept on walking, trying to ignore the worker who was widely smiling, now freaking me out.
"7:18 PM".
My home was near and I was at least ten minutes away from that weird store, but all this time, the smile, the face, it wouldn't leave my mind, it scarred into a place in my brain, refusing to leave.
I passed by the park again since it was on the way to my house, just a few minutes away.
It looks beautiful at night. I thought, even though it gave me those creepy vibes. You never know what could hide inside the darkness.
There weren't a lot of cars driving by even though it wasn't that late. I was still new to this neighbourhood since we just moved so I wasn't aware of the 'schedule'.
Though at day it was pretty busy, people were leaving to work, others to school and some were just going out to live their life. It was kinda weird to think about— each one of us has our own little life where we just live it, unaware of what somebody could be going through.
Someone might be dying, someone might be tortured, someone might be partying, someone might go missing and you'll never know. The world is too populated, so many things you're clueless about might be happening right at this moment.
The multiverse too; that theory is mind-blowing. Like, what do you mean right now, in another universe, I'm happily living with my parents?
It was just unbelievable but at the same time very interesting, the human mind simply couldn't understand all of that.
I unlocked the door and took my shoes and jacket off, going straight to my room.
The clock I recently bought showed '8:32 PM' so I decided to take a quick shower and rest.
I was going to go outside tomorrow, to the park. Even though they had been saying the weather will unlikely be good, I wasn't going to miss my chance of getting friendly with it.
The bathroom door was closed by me and I turned the water on at my ideal temperature; not hot but not cold either.
I hopped inside the bathtub and began washing myself as I felt infected with germs. I decided to wash my medium longed hair too because the blonde was kind of fading away.
Dyeing it wouldn't be a bad idea, I have been wanting to do it again for a while but I wasn't sure of the colour.
What would fit me the best?
I turned the water off and dried up, dressing up in some new pyjamas I never wore before. Basically a green t-shirt with some grey flannel pants.
Exiting the steamy bathroom, I got comfortable in my bed as I set up an alarm for tomorrow.
