The car stopped moving but my eyes were refusing to open, God knows why.
Why?
I couldn't hear anything. Maybe this was all just a dream or some kind of trance.
And the voices in my head were loud— too loud. They kept saying unnecessary things; it was happening again yet my state was helpless.
Suddenly, after what felt like forever, I could finally hear a voice (besides the ones in my head) again. Someone was calling my name, probably trying to wake me up.
"Jisung!"
That voice sounded.. desperate? It was all confusing. The words seemed faded, muffled and my brain could simply not comprehend what they were saying other than my name.
But still, I had to wake up. Right now.
Lazily opening my eyes, I saw Minho looking at me, his hand on my shoulder. Honestly, I was confused. Maybe because I just woke up from a short but relaxing nap— or just because the boy looked so tense.
"Jisung, you're finally awake!" he said as a sigh left out his reddish lips. I could tell he had been biting them.
I gave him an addled look before building the confidence to ask him why he looked like he had seen a ghost.
"What time is it?"
"Don't worry, you're not late." late for what exactly, my mind wondered.
And then it hit me. I completely forgot! I mentally thanked him for letting me know I still had time to arrive there and not make a fool out of myself.
"Jisung.. why are you crying?"
"But I'm not..?" if I wasn't utterly baffled before, now I was for sure.
"The tears resting on your face say the otherwise, though." Minho said, pointing to me.
I took my phone out opening the camera app, seeing something I haven't seen in a while. My eyes were red. The tears that had left my eyes—probably earlier— were now dried, making place for new ones to roll down my now flushed cheeks.
Though, I wasn't sure why this was happening. Could it be because of stress? Did Minho do something..? Was I too overwhelmed? I didn't quite understand.
"I'm not sure what happened. I was driving and then I just heard sobs, when I turned around I got a bit startled so I pulled over. Did you have a bad dream?" Minho softly said, caressing my shoulder.
"I don't know."
The brunette next to me exhaled, collecting his thoughts. He then left the car, going inside a convenience store located on the right side of the road.
As I waited for him to return with whatever he needed to buy I scrolled down on my phone, watching the most uninteresting things.
Those 'uninteresting things' apparently caught my attention, not hearing Minho entering the car. I suddenly jumped at his presence, unaware of it.
"I got you some water and snacks. In fifteen minutes we'll arrive."
I looked him in the eyes, taking my time to admire those beautiful orbs that held a whole galaxy in them. Saying I got lost in his eyes would be too cliché, but I couldn't even appropriately thank him— as it came out more like a whisper.
His effort was very much appreciated.
He started driving, turning on the music because of the air that felt tense . It was still pretty awkward, we were still strangers after all. We barely met a few days ago, and our interactions weren't the brightest. I wasn't going to lie, he was fine and his personality was genuine —you could easily open up to him without feeling judged. I didn't think this man could hurt a bug, and if he did then it must have been for a good reason, because-
