Chapter 1 : A New Chapter.

"Albedo?" The name felt like poison in Kaeya's mouth.

"Hey, you okay?" Rosaria put a hand on Kaeya's shoulder as a sign of comfort.

"...Yeah, I'm fine." Kaeya smiled at her, but she could tell it was fake.

"Let's go inside." Kaeya opened the door for Rosaria and everyone else.

Rosaria looked over to Lisa and Venti who seemed to not realize Kaeya's behavior just now.

Hours felt like minutes to Kaeya as he sat down, his own thoughts eating him alive. Until Rosaria saved him, it was like she grabbed him right out of the dark place he was in.

"What happened at work recently Kaeya? Anything juicy?" Rosaria had a smug look plastered on her pale face.

"Oh, well..." Kaeya thought about it for a minute, "Viktor got fired yesterday." Kaeya mumbled.

Rosaria slapped her hand on Kaeya's back, "That's great! You hated him didn't you?"

"Yeah. I did, I just—" "If you're gonna say you feel bad for him I'm leaving." Rosaria had a straight face, but everyone knew she was joking.

"No, I was gonna say I just wished I could've gave him a slap before he left!" Kaeya laughed, that's not actually what he wanted to say. He just wanted to lighten up the mood a little.

Everyone laughed and it seemed like everything went back to normal. Until Kaeya got back home.

Rosaria drove up to the motel. It had new renovations which made it look nicer and more modern.

Kaeya took a deep, shaky breath before leaving the car.

"Have a good night Kaeya! Try to get some sleep this time." Rosaria smiled as she waved goodbye.

Kaeya waved back with a soft smile.

As she drove off, Kaeya's brain went straight to Albedo.

He slowly walked to his motel room.

Albedo didn't look all that different. He was the same height, same hair color.

But there were a few differences he'd noticed.
He looked more..formal, more put together, and he was with Zhongli. Why was he with Zhongli of all people? From what Kaeya knew, Albedo hated Zhongli with a passion. There was definitely something going on.

Kaeya opened his motel room to be greeted by Leo purring up against his legs.

Kaeya smiled softly and closed the door behind him.

He took his coat and shoes off by the door and a slowly began to frown again.

Maybe it wasn't him.
Kaeya thought to himself as he went into his bedroom to change.

Maybe it was just my mind playing tricks on me.
Kaeya took off his shirt.

He bit his lip softly as he remembered how he left things with Albedo.
