"Running out of money you say?" Zhongli couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle, "That's impossible."
"I'm being serious. Pantalone...erh, told me." Dottore crossed his arms, Zhongli stared deep in his eyes. He couldn't find any trace of him lying.
"You're...serious? Really? But can't we just make a trade or—" "No one's accepting our trades. I don't know why."
"Shit. This is bad. How am I gonna tell Mr. Kreideprinz?!" Zhongli ran his hand through his hair and clenched his jaw.
"Have you tried trading the Arataki Gang?" Zhongli suggested, he was hopeful for a minute before Dottore shook his head with a sigh, "I'm sure Pantalone already tried them."
"What did we do?! All we ever were was loyal and generous to all our allies..." Zhongli bit on his nail as he tried to think about anything they could've done that would've resulted in this.
Dottore agreed. This was a little strange.
I have no idea what could've caused this...
Zhongli shook his head as he began to give up thinking about it, until...
Wait...
"The drug lords..." Zhongli's eyes widened at the realization.
"What?" Dottore tilted his head. "The drug lords! Mr. Kreideprinz and I went to do a contract with them only a few days ago...I haven't looked up anything about them so—" Dottore understood what Zhongli was saying, his eyes widened when he realized and ended up accidentally cutting off Zhongli; "They could be enemies with our allies! God...how would they upset that many people?"
"I'm not sure...I'm surprised Mr. Kreidezprinz didn't tell me." Zhongli looked to the side and frowned slightly, "Is there anyway you can cancel the contract you have with them?" Dottore asked.
Zhongli sighed, "Probably not. Mr. Kreidezprinz had become awfully close with one of them."
"Shit." Dottore muttered. "What should we do?"
"No idea." Zhongli shook his head. "By the way, why are you the one telling me? Shouldn't Pantalone have been the one to tell me all this?"
Dottore bit the inside of his lip, "He didn't want to tell anyone probably because he thought he could fix it before anyone noticed...but it has been going on for awhile. I only just learned about it today, I knew I had to tell someone even if Pantalone didn't want me to."
"That's very out of character of him. Tell him that I'd like to speak with him, alright?" Zhongli could have easily been mistaken for the leader of the Fatui talking like that, maybe he even fooled himself.
Dottore gave him a strange look, before agreeing and leaving.
