earlier that morning
The light flooded out from Albedo's curtains. He opened his eyes slowly, the light stinging his eyes.
He groaned as he sat up. His head was pounding. "Fuck..." he mumbled.
He looked over to his bedside table, there was a water bottle and a note.
He picked up the bottle, desperately trying to get it open before drinking.
He wiped his mouth and looked down at the note.
I got you some water to help with the headache your going to have in the morning. I'm sorry for yesterday. -Zhongli
Albedo cringed and shook his head.
He got up and decided to get ready for the day.
When he got out of his bedroom, there was someone waiting for him.
"Xiao, what are you doing here? It's kinda early isn't it?" Albedo walked over to his desk, every step feeling like a knife was piercing through his brain.
"Yes, I know. But I just wanted to talk to you about something..." Xiao looked away. Albedo raised his eyebrow and leaned in forward a little more.
"I know you told me to drop the Kaeya Alberich mission and I know you think I can't do it, but I can. Even if I messed up again last night..." Xiao winced waiting for Albedo's reply.
Albedo leaned back, also taking a step back. His eyes stared widely at Xiao, then at the floor. He then looked back at Xiao with pure anger.
"What did you do?"
Xiao opened one of his eyes and looked at Albedo. He then opened the other and stared straight at Albedo, knowing he had messed up.
"I went to his residence the other night and tried to kill him, like I was suppose to, but someone sudden showed up and I knew I didn't have enough time—!" Xiao didn't even notice that Albedo had gotten so close to him before Albedo was grabbing him by the collar from across the desk.
"What did you do to him Xiao?!" Albedo yelled, his grip tightening. He didn't even care that his head felt like his was going to explode.
"Why do you care so much?! I was suppose to kill him!" Xiao yelled back, even if Albedo was his boss he couldn't just let someone yell at him like that.
"Because I—!..." Albedo grunted and let go of Xiao. "So he's not dead, right?" He asked, avoiding eye contact with Xiao.
"No. He's not. He's only injured, I bet he's in the hospital right now." Xiao crossed his arms.
"Good. If Zhongli comes back tell him I'm taking a walk." Albedo stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
Xiao dug his nails into his arms and groaned, throwing his arms to his sides.
Albedo was able to get to the hospital in only a few minutes, it was pretty close to headquarters.
When he walked in and went to the front desk, a lady that looked too young to be working there greeted him. "Hello, I'm Barbara, how can I help you?"
