"You're awake. Do you remember anything?" Kazuha sounded unsympathetic when speaking, Kaeya noticed that.
Kaeya disregarded Kazuha's question to ask his own, "How did I get here?"
"When I went to visit you, the door was unlocked so I went in. I found you bleeding on the ground unconscious so I called an ambulance. Now, do you remem—" Kaeya abruptly interrupted him while sitting up; "Could you wait a minute before asking me anything?"
Kazuha looked away, frowning. "You're right. I'm sorry about that."
"It's fine." Kaeya let out a long sigh and stretched his arms out, finally noticing the bandages on his hands.
"You're gonna have to keep those bandages up for awhile." Kazuha commented, it went silent after that.
I feel like he doesn't like me. Kazuha glanced over to Kaeya, who was still staring at his bandaged hands.
I usually wouldn't be so inconsiderate...but this might be important to the case. Kazuha breathed out slowly, trying not to make a dramatic sigh.
But when should I ask him? He doesn't seem to want to talk about it just yet. Maybe I should leave him alone. Kazuha stood up, planning on leaving before Kaeya spoke; "The murderer did this. He came to my motel last night, he said he wanted to kill me. I'm not sure why."
Kazuha's interest was piqued! He looked back to Kaeya will hopeful eyes, "Did he tell you anything about the Fatui?" He asked, his excitement dripping into his tone.
"No. Nothing." Kaeya responded, looking straight at Kazuha.
He's not lying. Kazuha's eyes softened.
"Could I ask you something Mr. Alberich?" Kaeya felt chills through his body when Kazuha said that. He looked away, he knew that this wasn't going to be good.
"Go ahead." Kaeya replied, his hair falling in front of his face a little.
"We're you lying to me the other day about him not telling you who the leader of the Fatui is?" Kazuha spoke in such a tone that indicated he already knew the answer. Usually Kaeya wouldn't see the point in lying at this point, but he wanted to at least give it a try.
"No." Was his answer. Short, simple, Kazuha might actually fallen for it if he was stupid.
"Come on," Kazuha began, "You don't have to lie anymore. I think I already have an idea of who it is anyway." A small smirk curved onto his lips, his eyes narrowing at Kaeya.
Kaeya bit his tongue, as if it would betray him if he let go. He stayed silent.
"Mr. Kamisato told me everything about you and your connections to the Fatui in the past...and that man..." Kazuha put a thumb to his lip like he was thinking. "Albedo was it?" he snapped his fingers when he figured it out.
Kaeya winced at the name. But he didn't dare to say anything.
