(flashback fr)
———
Fifteen year old Albedo sobbed on the ground, covered in blood that wasn't even his.
"Get up." Zhongli demanded.
"I can't—I can't do it—..Zhongl—!" Zhongli cut him off by grabbing him by the arm and forcing him to stand up.
Albedo looked down at the body on the examination table in fear and disgust.
"I taught you how to safely and carefully remove organs, did I not? Remove his heart." Zhongli said with a cold tone.
Albedo breathed heavily, trying not to puke from...everything.
He slowly grabbed the blade and hovered over the heart, trembling.
"Stop that, you're going to mess up!" Zhongli grabbed his hand to make his stop shaking.
Albedo's breathing got faster and faster.
Albedo looked over to Zhongli, though Zhongli was looking down at Albedo's hand.
Albedo made the hand that was by his side into a fist as he stared intensely at Zhongli.
Albedo quickly slipped his hand out of Zhongli's, not even giving him enough time to react before he started stabbing him on the ground repeatedly with the blade.
All Zhongli could do was look at him with a shocked expression, and all Albedo could do was stab him while crying his heart out.
Suddenly, someone came in and pushed Albedo off of Zhongli.
The next day, Albedo wasn't expecting to see Zhongli at training.
But Zhongli walked in, looking completely fine.
"You..." Albedo's eyes widened and he started to back away from Zhongli.
"You stabbed me in all the wrong places to kill me. Have I taught you nothing?" Zhongli looked genuinely upset. Albedo caught himself thinking if Zhongli was even human.
"I'd expect you'd know this even without my help, since your family was in a gang. But I guess they didn't teach you anything." Zhongli sighed.
"Or maybe they gave up on teaching you after realizing how stubborn you are." Zhongli had a small chuckle.
Albedo looked down, he could feel the tears in his eyes already. It didn't take long until they started dropping onto the floor.
Zhongli looked down at the tears falling to the ground, "Or maybe you were just too soft."
"I'm...sorry. I'm sorry sir, please forgive me." Albedo cried out.
Zhongli looked down at him.
"Look at me Albedo." Zhongli ordered.
Albedo hesitated for a moment before looking up at him.
"You know...I'm only harsh on you because I know you have potential." Zhongli put on a small smile, Albedo couldn't tell if it was fake or not.
"Maybe you could even be running this place in a few years." Zhongli said that, but he was doubting it.
To 15 year old Albedo, that sounded great. But as he grew older, he knew that he would never want that.

(end of flashback)
Zhongli looked at his bare chest in the mirror, tracing his fingers over the scars he got from a certain fifteen year old boy.
He was originally gonna take a shower, but now he just felt like shit.
"Zhongli, hurry up, we need to go to a meeting soon." Albedo called out from the other side of the door.
"Sorry sir. I'll be right out." Zhongli answered.
Did he really came all the way to my room to tell me to hurry up?
Zhongli smiled softly with a small chuckle.
Zhongli came out twenty minutes later, looking the same as before just with different clothes.
"Finally. We need to get going. We're making a deal with some drug lords, they are pretty well known in the part of L.A they're in, so we'll make a lot of money from this." Albedo got up from his chair and began walking out with Zhongli.
"Sir, I don't think that's a good ide—" Albedo cut him off, "I didn't ask you to think, Zhongli. I know what I'm doing." Albedo said sharply.
Zhongli clenched his teeth together, "Right sir. Sorry."
