When Albedo reached one Kaeya felt his whole body relax. He was able to take his eyes off the phone and to Albedo once again. Albedo looked...disappointed?

"Did you expect me to call them?" Kaeya asked sternly. Albedo looked down at Kaeya's cheek and soon after leaned forward and wiped a tear with his thumb from Kaeya's face. "No. But I hoped you would." He leaned back into his chair.

Kaeya knew his eyes had started to water but he never felt a tear drip from his eye. It was a little embarrassing.

"You've changed. A lot." Kaeya looked away. "Of course, I'd been acting differently after what I heard in the hospital," Albedo said. "No. I've noticed your changes before that." Kaeya sighed, "I just ignored it until now because I didn't think it was that much of a big deal."

"What are you saying? If you do not like how I've changed, then you are welcome to waltz your way out of my life." Albedo let his anger ooze into his tone making Kaeya look at him again. "You have a perfectly normal life ahead of you without me, I don't get why you would want to give something like that up."

"I'm giving up my future for you Albedo. I'm risking everything for you." Kaeya slid his hand into Albedos. Albedo stared down at their intertwined hands, it broke him a little inside.

"And it's because I love you." Kaeya squeezed Albedo's hand, even though Albedo wasn't looking at his face at that moment he could tell that Kaeya was on the verge of tears.

"You can't," Albedo spoke in a small voice, his hand leaving Kaeya's. He looked up to meet Kaeya's baffled, sad look. "I won't let you."

"Your life will just be a never-ending war if you stay with me. I cannot allow you to stay with me." Albedo tried to be assertive towards Kaeya, but I guess that only worked with his members because Kaeya wouldn't back down so easily. "Yes but you'll be by my side in that war, and that's all I want." Kaeya's eye(s) were soft, and delicate—they looked like they were about to break and the water behind them would come flooding out.

Albedo shook his head, "Don't cry please." The way he put it was more demanding than comforting.

"I'm not going to cry." Kaeya laughed, but as he did his tears fell loose down his face. "You are crying," "Ah...I thought I could hold them back a little longer."
