Albedo dozed off about an hour ago in Kaeya's arms. Kaeya couldn't sleep, there was just no way.

It's better if he thinks this is just a dream.
Kaeya thought.

I need to bring him back to his headquarters before he wakes up.
Kaeya didn't want to let go of him. He never wanted to let go of Albedo again. But if Albedo found out that this wasn't a dream...everything would repeat.

Kaeya got up, picking up Albedo and holding him in his arms.

Kaeya put Albedo in the passenger seat of the cop car carefully so he wouldn't wake him; but he apparently shut the door too loud when getting into the drivers seat because Albedo began to wake up.

"Nikolai..?" Albedo mumbled, rubbing his eyes.

Kaeya felt a sudden shock go through his body, he looked over to Albedo...looking terrified.

Nikolai?
Kaeya gripped harder onto the stirring wheel.

Albedo didn't bother looking up to see if it was really Nikolai with him in the car, "You don't mind if doze off a little, right?" Albedo asked, not waiting for a response to go back to sleep.

Kaeya blinked down at the floor of the car, feeling a mix of anger and sadness. Maybe even a hint of jealousy.

He shook his head, as if it would shake all the bad thoughts out of his head and began driving to Albedo's headquarters.

Kaeya parked far enough away that the cop car wouldn't be seen, but that caused him to have to walk a little further then he'd want to with Albedo in his arms.

He reached the entrance to the headquarters, opening the door a little to make sure no one was there...which there luckily wasn't.

Kaeya took a sigh of relief and went inside.

He looked around, this must be the lounge area.

Sorry Albedo, I'm gonna have to just leave you here.
Kaeya put Albedo down beside the door gently.

"Mr. Kredieprinz? Are you back?" A voice came from the hall.

Kaeya froze for a second, but he forced himself to snap out of it and leave quickly.

Zhongli looked around, eventually seeing Albedo by the door, passed out.

Zhongli gasped, "Albedo!" He hurried over to him, Albedo slowly woke up at the sound of Zhongli's worried voice.

"Zhongli..?" Albedo looked at him, not sure if he was still dreaming or not.

"Did Nikolai bring me back..?" Albedo asked as Zhongli helped him up.

"I'm not sure, but we need to get you to bed now!" Zhongli held Albedo tight so he wouldn't fall, he didn't even let him sway as he walked him back to his room.

Kaeya rested his head on the stirring wheel.

"Mr. Kredieprinz? Why did he address him like that?..." Kaeya spoke his thoughts out loud.

"—unless..." Kaeya shivered at the thought of Albedo being the leader of such a messed up organization..

"No..he wouldn't do that." Kaeya reassured himself.

..people change though.
Kaeya thought to himself.

No, no. Don't think like that. I'm sure there was a perfect explanation for him addressing Albedo so formally! Albedo wouldn't become the leader of the Fatui, that's just nonsense !
Kaeya shook his head.

I should be returning the car back to the station now.

Kaeya returned to his motel room feeling like absolute shit.

All he could do was lay on his bed and think about Albedo, replaying all the memories he had with him over and over again. Each time he did, it hurt even worse.

"Damn it.." Kaeya curled up into a fertile position as tears began to roll down his face.

He knew that there was nothing he could do to be with Albedo, no safe option. All he could do was move on and try his hardest to forget about him...but he could never forget him.

The depression overwhelmed him so much that all he could do was cry, barely taking anytime to breath in the middle of his sobs.

His phone rang.

Kaeya reached over to his phone to decline, but when he saw it was Rosaria he knew he had to pick up.

Kaeya cleared his throat before talking, "Hello?" His voice cracked.

"Hey Kaeya, you haven't texted in awhile..so I was just wondering if you were alright. You were acting a little weird last time we met. You know you can talk to me about anything right?" Rosaria spoke as if Kaeya was fragile.

"I'm fine Rosaria. Just a lot of work stuff." He tried to reassure her, but it didn't work.

"Were you crying? Your voice sounds a little—","I'm fine. Rosaria."

They both went silent for a few minutes.

"Alright Kaeya. I'll talk to you soon." Rosaria finally said.

Kaeya sighed, "Yeah."

"I love yo—" Kaeya hung up before she could finish.

"I love you too." He said in a scratchy voice, even though he had already hung up.

"I love you so much."
