Albedo finally left Kaeya to go back to headquarters.

Albedo breathed out slowly as he walked down the streets of L.A.

I can't do this to him again. I can't do this myself again.

Last night...he said these past few years without me were tearing him apart. I was tearing him apart. I thought he hated me but this is much worse.

He still loves me, but I've hurt him so much without even knowing it. At least if he'd hated me he wouldn't have been in so much pain.
Albedo clenched his jaw at the thought.

"Albedo?" A voice from in front of Albedo spoke, making Albedo stop in his tracks.

Albedo looked up to see Nikolai, standing there with a smile.

"Nikolai? What are you—", Nikolai walked up to him, "I was actually about to text you." His smile was definitely contagious because Albedo found himself forming a small smile.

"About what?" He asked, Nikolai got sort of flustered as he began to ask; "I was thinking maybe you could...have a drink with me tonight? Of course I'll be paying—well that is if you come you don't have to I mea—" Albedo cut him off with a laugh, "I'd be delighted to go have a drink with you tonight. Where?"

"I was thinking Angels Share, it's pretty popular I'm sure you've heard of it." Nikolai replied.

Albedo suddenly felt his stomach sink, and he only realized that it showed when Nikolai asked; "Oh, do you not like Angels Share...? We could go somewhere else if so."

"Oh, no, no.." Albedo breathed deeply before continuing, "Angels Share sounds fine."

"Perfect! I'll pick you up at 8:00 is that an okay time?" Nikolai tilted his head slightly, "Yes, that's fine." Albedo nodded.

Albedo finally arrived back at headquarters. He slowly walked back to his office, dreading whatever Zhongli was gonna say to him.

He hesitated at the doorknob before going in, putting a cold look on his face.

Zhongli rushed over, "Albedo! Where have you been? I've been worried sick." Zhongli blocked Albedo from walking any further.

Albedo looked him dead in the eyes, "Albedo?" Albedo repeated Zhongli's mistake.

Zhongli suddenly felt a shock go through his body, he looked away.

"Mr. Kreideprinz, my apologies sir." Zhongli breathed heavily and shakily.

Zhongli faced back towards Albedo, he looked so vulnerable.

"I really was worried." Zhongli admitted, Albedo huffed, annoyed.

"I can protect myself Zhongli. You trained me." Albedo mumbled.

Zhongli bit his lip hard.

"I know." Zhongli said. "I just—" Albedo cut him off before he could finish speaking, "I don't care what you have to say. You are my assistant, you're nothing more then a loyal dog to me." Albedo pushed Zhongli out of the way, "And if you continue to bark at me, I'll happily put you down."

"I.." Zhongli was speechless. "Do you understand?" Albedo looked back, glaring at Zhongli.

Zhongli felt his anger grip him by the neck, choking him.

"I can't believe you." Zhongli muttered, hands formed into small fists by his sides.

"Excuse me?" Albedo looked a little surprised.

"I can't fucking believe you. I don't know why you started acting like this but I've had enough of it." Zhongli snapped.

Albedo turned his body to face Zhongli, crossing his arms and looking unimpressed.

"I know you've been through a lot ever since you were born but I never taught you to be this fucking selfish." Zhongli's stern voice no longer effected Albedo like how it did when he was 15. Now it just made him irritated.

"Yeah. You never taught me to be anything but a tool for the Fatui to use over and over again." Albedo laughed a little, but he felt himself slowly loose control of his emotions.

"I didn't want to be apart of the Fatui, I didn't want to be its leader either. If I could leave I would, but I can't. So I'm sorry I've been being shitty to you Zhongli." Albedo held back the tears in his eyes, he didn't want to feel weak. He wasn't some fifteen year old kid anymore after all.

Zhongli felt his rage cage itself back up, but the regret and shame came flooding towards him.

Zhongli opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out.

Albedo looked away from Zhongli to wipe his eyes.

"Please leave Zhongli." Albedo said, voice finally calming down and steadying more.

Zhongli looked away and nodded, he left only a few seconds after.
