Levi's POV

"Finally," Isabel smiled upon seeing that we had reached our destination. After all, the airport check in and check out was tiring.

"Furlan, check for new messages from 'A'," I told him as we got out of one of the two taxis that we had booked.

"You do know that I need to get to my room first and then connect to the private internet connection the Commander got me first right?"

"Yeah, just saying."

"Bro look!" Isabel dragged me by the arm, "There are so many stores here!"

"We're here for work, not for vacation," I stated as she pouted.

"There is also a cleaning supplies shop," she muttered in a low voice but made sure that it was loud enough for me to hear. As soon as she said that, I whipped my head around and eyed every shop until I saw that one shop that could catch my interest.

"Let's go there after unpacking," Isabel suggested.

What?

Is this really happening?

"Did you hit your head or something which caused your personality to change?"

"No! I just suggested it because you like cleaning supplies..."

Oh, so even she was trying to cheer me up and keep me distracted.

Do I really look that depressed?

"We'll see if we have time," I decided before entering the hotel as my squad mates followed me.

We went straight to the reception desk like guests should and I talked to the receptionist.

"Reservations under the name Erwin Smith," I asked as she looked it up on her computer while my squad mates simply gaped at my proper use of the English language. Seems like no one has bothered to learn the most widely used language in the world other than me.

So, we are in the U.S.A and out of the entire squad, only I can talk to the people here.

Great, just great.

Reader's POV

I slumped back on my chair in my laboratory. The suit I was wearing was making me hot, not that I wasn't already hot but it was uncomfortable. But what could I do? I wasn't done with the diamond yet and I wanted to get the job done today so I wasn't even giving myself breaks and the things that usually took time like heating or hardening, I was using more tools to get the job done quicker.

I sighed, all of this because I can't take the real one because I don't want to go to France two times in a row. Besides, it'd ruin my record of never letting any diamonds be recovered.

Alright, enough resting, time for the next task. I got up and headed to my work desk and saw that the mixture had been made. I carefully poured it in the shaping utensil that I had since I made it when I was about to steal the Idol's Eye. I always kept everything and never threw anything out which proved useful as I didn't have to start from scratch with making the shaping utensil.
