39. One Life For Another

Levi's POV

"You're going too far," She gritted her teeth angrily, "Your problem is with me. Leave her alone. Yes, yes, I believe you. No, I don't need proof. ALRIGHT. I HEARD HER. Don't touch her. Let her go and face me. You're acting like a coward."

There was a silence that loomed over the room and enveloped us as my partner tightened her grip on the phone beside her ear. The only thing breaking the silence was the sound of someone from the phone; the person on the other end of the line.

"Fine," My partner said after a few seconds, "Fine. I'll be there. Keep your promise this time and don't send the cops instead because you'll only be wasting my and your time."

A few seconds later, she hung up the phone.

"Who was it?" Unease spread through my body like wildfire as something told me that whatever she just talked about to that certain someone on the phone was a big deal, "You said that you'll be there. Where exactly are you talking about?"

"Give me a second," She demanded as she already called another number and as soon as the call was accepted, she started talking, "My code is that my brother is in love with Eren Yeager. Your code? Very good. Now, don't call me on this number ever again unless I say so. I'll reach out with new contact information very soon. Bye."

"What is happening?!" I was getting impatient.

"Mikasa found us," My partner's voice was shaking, "And she's here, in Hawaii."

"Why the fuck do you have to go see her?"

"She's got Isabel," Her voice was laced with fear, "She kidnapped her-"

I grabbed her collar before she could say another word, "This deal was between you and me. Why is she involved in this?"

Y/N didn't say another word. The only thing I could feel was a strong hit in my groin as the pain spread to the entire body and I was pushed away.

"I'm not responsible for this," She glared at me, "It wasn't my fault. But despite all that, I am willing to put my life and my goals on the line for someone that means so much to you, who I am not obligated to follow and even so, you choose to fight the only person who is with you to get you, your revenge and your friend back. Are you sure you want to mess with me?"

"You're threatening me?!"

"I'm only making you realise the truth. 3 pm sharp at an abandoned warehouse. Today. I'll check how far it is and you use the Caesar Shift to break the code while I'm away."

"I'm going with you!" I demanded, "She's my sister!"

"Mikasa only asked for me. Defy her orders and your sister is the one who'll be hurt," Y/N looked somewhat scared, "Whether I come back or not, Isabel will. And if I don't come back, fulfill the plan because whether or not I see the diamond, I need to get my revenge. And I have no option but to trust you with it."

"You're not going alone," I argued, "You can't guarantee Isabel's safety."

"I can," She promised, "I guarantee her safety. She'll be fine. Just don't leave the room while I'm gone."

She didn't take a second to confirm if I would do as she told me to as she searched up the location on her phone.

"It's somewhat far. I'll leave now and hang around somewhere in the way because Mikasa told me to not be too early," She told me, "But I'll make preparations right now."

Y/N grabbed her bag and packed some things. She opened a drawer and looked confused when she saw the contents inside, "Huh? Where'd I put it? Ugh, whatever."
