Reader's POV

"Levi!" I gasped at the ex-cop beside me who was trying to lunge towards the villain of our story only to be held back by the straps on the chair that was attached to the floor.

"There's a reason that your chair has metal straps, dear cousin," Mikasa continued on, "Besides, I already apologised."

"You killed him! Why the fuck did you kill him?!" Levi had lost all emotional control.

"Calm down," Mikasa acted coolly, "It wasn't my intention. I went to the States along with someone to retrieve the diamond because I got news from a credible source that it was there. The person accompanying me, Annie, just happened to be a criminal and your father and his squad just happened to hear that she would be there and just happened to be there to catch her. Now, I was just defending my partner. I didn't mean to shoot your Dad."

"Salope!" Levi's eyes became red.

"But even then," Mikasa lamented about her own problems, "We didn't get the diamond. Besides us, the person who had the diamond and the French police, there was a fourth party that had been targeting the diamond for quite a long while. They killed the person in possession of the diamond and took it away before I could even steal a glance."

"It was you...," My voice quivered, "If you hadn't been there then...."

"Hm. Did you say something?" Mikasa looked at me and when I didn't answer, she continued on, "Look at my monitor. I've got something to show you, Levi."

When a bloodthirsty Levi looked at the screen, Mikasa played the video as Levi saw himself killing Fritz.

"Join me, Y/N," Mikasa turned back to me, "Or he stays here. For the rest of his life."

"I...," I trailed off. Killing Mikasa to get to the diamond was one thing, but betraying the person who risked his future to save my life and rid the world of the one person who haunted my nightmares was another.

Then the door of the office opened.

Without a knock.

"So you're the fraud," A woman who had pitch black hair and black eyes with eyebags under them asked, "Oh well. It's convenient that you're here so that I don't have to look for you to kill you."

Guards behind her had their guns pointed at her and opened fire upon the woman's command, shooting everything near Mikasa including her monitor and computer which sourced the video as Mikasa abandoned it and jumped out of the small window in the office into the cold outside.

"Take the prisoners back to their cells," The woman commanded as I saw two guards, Marcel and one other step ahead to free me and Levi to take us back to our cell.

"Yes, captain," They said that made me assume that Mikasa was a fake and she was the real one.

On the trip back, Marcel didn't say anything because the other guard holding Levi was walking close by, faster because Levi's legs weren't beaten not long ago like mine were. They soon walked past us and in a little while more, out of sight and earshot and then, Marcel talked to me about my grave expression that made it seem that I had seen a titan up close.

"Nothing, Marcel. It was nothing."

"So, you're telling me that a woman who faked being the captain wanted to talk to you for no reason at all?"

"If you say it like that...."

"It sounds stupid anyway you say it."

"I'm telling you, it really was nothing."

"So I guess I've got no other option," Marcel sighed before giving me a threat, "Tell me or I'll tell Porco the first thing when I give him an update on you."
