Reader's POV

I was taken to solitary confinement for a day after a doctor had checked me over to make sure that I didn't have any injuries that could kill me. She treated me properly and once she was done, she allowed the guards to take me back.

In solitary confinement, where it was just an empty room without even a bed or toilet with a small wall separating it, seconds passed like minutes, minutes passed like hours, hours passed like days and the day felt like a week.

And I'm not sure if I minded or not. I felt like I needed time to think but at the same time, I didn't want to face it and wanted a distraction as well as the feeling of being with someone else.

Once I was returned to my cell that I shared with an ex-cop that I suspected had killed the monster that had haunted me using the knife that one of my brothers made, thus fulfilling his wish to kill the monster himself; I saw the cop himself, sitting on my bunk with the knife in question in his hands as he fiddled around with it.

He looked at me, scoffed and got up to move back to his bunk but not before throwing the knife in his hands on my bunk.

"If this is what life in prison is, then you need it more than me. Besides, I'd just settle for the whitener pen."

I nodded and sat down on my own bunk, putting the knife aside and under my pillow.

"I had a tough time hiding it while the stupid guards were checking me over so you better make good use of it."

I nodded again even though I knew that he couldn't see it.

"Oi, brat. Are you going to talk or what?"

"I'll get you out of here," I answered, desperately trying to avoid the question he asked.

"Hah? But that's not what I'm asking."

"I'll get you out of here and clear your records. I promise. I owe you for that after all. Just please don't use his data to get to me-"

"Don't you think that if I wanted to use him to get to you once and for all, I wouldn't have risked my future to kill him?"

My eyes widened in shock at the answer of the voice talking from the bunk above mine.

"He would've been questioned on how he knew you and he would've talked and we would've been able to pin you down one last time. They would see The Idol's Eye in your base and clear my name. It would all work out for me."

"T-Then, why d-didn't you?" I whispered out shakily.

"I don't know," Levi said carelessly, "What was I supposed to do when you were looking at him in that kind of fear and clinging on to me as if your life depended on it?"

I hugged my legs tightly before remembering that I was injured and loosening my grip and hiding my face in my knees.

I slightly sobbed, trying to keep it down. It didn't seem like Levi had noticed.

I sobbed some more, trying to control it but couldn't.

"Now, are you going to talk or-. Hold on. Brat, are you crying?"

I let myself break as I sobbed again, loudly this time and let out a few tears as Levi jumped down from his bunk to look at me, flustered, confused and awkward.

"Shit," Levi swore in his mother tongue, "Stop crying brat."

But I just cried even more, "I d-don't wanna go to the Gala or the Devil's Place!"

"What even are those places?!"

"They're going to put me there if they catch me one more time," I wiped my tears with my palms, only to release some more, "I wanna see my brothers. And I wanna see his eyes."
