Levi's POV

I didn't beat the shit out of my arch enemy for spouting nonsense questions at me and even bothered to answer them because she was sitting in the corner and she looked like she could cry any second and I didn't want to seem like a monster to everyone in the damn world, especially to those who didn't deserve it.

By answering her questions, I had her not fear me but it made me furious when she went and called me an idiot a bunch of times but I understood her frustration because damn, the higher ups were complete morons who shared one brain cell that didn't work half the fucking time.

But then she refused to help me and that was still fine because she wasn't obligated to. I would just have to bring the fear back and threaten her into doing this for me.

That's what I thought would happen until she offered me a deal. A deal to join her by becoming her accomplice and temporarily commit crimes and steal diamonds with her.

That was when she had pulled the elastic too far back and it snapped right back, hitting her right in the face as my anger made me grab her collar for the third time since I had met her. She looked fearful but more determined than anyone I had ever seen. She seemed like she would break any second and release tears she had been holding in her eyes but she held on and didn't give in to her unrelenting fear and held her ground, not helping or accepting threats, only making deals.

I wanted to land a solid punch in her face but I held back, not wanting to aid the higher ups in keeping me locked up in here and helping spread rumours that we indeed were allies when we were not.

We would never be.

"I'm not aiding a criminal," I glared straight into her eyes before releasing her collar to which she rushed to the farthest side of the cell, backed up against the wall and probably wishing that she could walk through it to get away from me.

"So you want to stay in here forever," The criminal gulped in fear but continued the negotiation as I understood that it must be quite important to her. After all, she said that it was her dream and as talented as she is, if she can't do it herself, it must be a really tough job, "Okay. It doesn't affect me. But it does affect your friends' futures."

"What?" I barked as she flinched.

"This," She held up my notebook as I walked toward her and snatched it from her, "Your friends might commit crimes to be able to get to you once they realise that nothing can get you out, right? I think the blond guy is near your age and Isabel seemed younger. They have a lot of life left to live. It wouldn't be good if they ended up in prison so early, right? Or any time at all."

"You brat..."

"Haha. You remind me of someone," The criminal laughed nervously.

I absolutely hated to say this but she had a point. Those two brats were crazy enough to do something like that and even Furlan passed terrible judgement when his mind was clouded with distracting and worrying thoughts let alone someone reckless like Isabel. If those two did something then that could cost them for their entire lives causing them to lose their jobs and completely destroy their careers because of me, I could never forgive myself.

"They wouldn't do that," I stayed in denial.

Narrator's POV

Meanwhile

"So," Erwin tried to massage his headache out of his head as he looked at the two senior members of his suspended Special Operations Squad who were being detained at the time, "You two thought that it was a good idea to go and dig up fifteen graves, bring their bodies here and tell me that you were serial killers so that you could get arrested and go see Levi?"

"Yeah," Isabel replied.

"Did you two seriously think that we don't know the difference between murdered bodies and the ones sitting in graves for months?"

"See, Furlan?" Isabel snapped at her best friend, "This was why I told you that we should get fresh bodies instead!"

"Seems like that's the only way now," Furlan murmured.

"Get back to your senses!" Erwin commanded, "Levi's fine and he'll be back soon. I'm talking to the higher ups and Premier Zackly even agreed to judge this himself-"

"Shut up, blondie!" Furlan was done waiting as he stood up and spoke the truth out loud instead of boosting his idealistic personality, "Levi was sent to a maximum security prison in another country when they didn't even have proof for his crime! They don't want to investigate this because it's a crime related to the black hole and we never reach a clear conclusion in any case related to her! Even though you know that he's never coming back! Stop lying to me! Stop lying to the rest of the squad because they actually believed you! Stop lying to Isabel because she might believe you as well like the rest of the squad! Do you think that our feelings are games?! When they believed you, they trusted you and trusted the fact that he would come back when it's just hopeless! Don't give us false hope because it only hurts more!"

"Then what do you want me to do?!" Erwin broke through his calm persona and a shocked Isabel and Furlan gave him confused glances, "I spent three nights of overtime sending everyone I know, emails! I'm lucky when someone bothers to email back and refuses because most don't even reply back! Everyone thinks that I have connections, I fucking did when they were on the receiving end and now they don't talk to me because they know I need help! Do you think I don't want him to get back to us?! But if I committed a crime to try to go to prison to join him, he would never be able to come back! So don't just do what you think is right and help me help him!"

Isabel and Furlan gaped at him as Furlan bit back his pride and decided that he indeed did want to help save Levi, "What can we do?"

"Help me send out some emails!"

Back to the main characters

"Are you sure?" Y/N tried to make Levi question himself and then advertised her offer, "Are you willing to put your friends' entire lives on the line for that? Because if you trust me and join me, I will take care of how to get you back home with a clear criminal record even though you would have escaped from prison. Not only that, you would also get valuable experience which would help you think with the mind of a criminal and you'll be able to catch them more easily. And one more thing, I can also give a reasonable amount of money for the hassle. So, what do you say?"

"Fuck off," Levi's answer was direct.

"That's okay," Y/N accepted the answer and rejected it at the same time, "Because I will convince you! Levi-. Wait, what's your full name? I want this line to be dramatic."

"Ackerman," Levi answered as he climbed onto his bunk to get lost into his thoughts once more, not caring about anything anymore.

"That's okay," Y/N started once again, "Because I will convince you, Levi Ackerman! Hold on. Ackerman?"

"Yeah. So what?"

Y/N gasped, totally getting the wrong idea but once you will find out what she actually took from the situation, I can guarantee that you will be dying of laughter because that's what the author did when she thought of this idea.

"Oh! My! Gosh!"

A/N = If Marco and Jean had kids, they'd be centaurs. Because they'd be half horse and half man.
