Narrator's POV

"Galliard, strap her to that chair and leave to get prisoner 25. The rest of you are dismissed," Mikasa smirked behind her desk as she sat down in her chair, her legs crossed, feet on the table as she lounged in her comfortable chair.

"You...," Y/N growled as she felt Marcel behind her tense up but followed orders nonetheless while he gave her a small pat on the back-as reassurance that he was always there for her-that couldn't be noticed by anyone before he left the room to get Levi.

"Yes, me," Mikasa straightened up in her chair once all the guards had left to talk to Y/N, "Did you miss me?"

"If you kill yourself now then I might."

"Ooh. So that's the first thing you say to your friend after not seeing her for months?"

"I would have rather never seen you again."

"That's strange," Mikasa frowned, "I took you as the kind of person to be in denial after a friend betrayed you instead of jumping in for a fight. I expected something along the lines of 'I could never hate you' instead of 'kill yourself'."

"I was in denial for a while actually," Y/N started, "Then I was angry for a little bit. Then I asked myself questions about why you did what you did. I couldn't feel the sadness because I was too busy crying about something else meaning the trauma you reminded me of and now I accept it. And you also know what comes after that, don't you?"

"Revenge. That's what you want from me?" Mikasa got up from her chair and walked behind it, her hands on the coat that hung at the back of her too comfortable for a prison chair.

"Why would I not?!" I barked, "It was one thing when you broke my trust and got me into prison and ruined one of my spare chances to get caught and not go to The Gala or The Devil's Place and almost ruining my record of no diamonds being recovered and then, I would've settled with never seeing your nasty face again but it's another thing when you try to kill me!"

"Relax," She said in a cool voice, "I wasn't trying to kill you. That would ruin my years and years of effort. I was just simply threatening you."

"Hah?"

"The interrogation was a threat on how your life could end if you didn't listen to me. Fritz was a complete coincidence. Well, not a complete one. I didn't let Kenny or Levi into the room so that Fritz, an extremely hostile individual who was looking for an easy victim in the prison, could hurt you and I could have him taken away when you learned your lesson. But you spent so much time running that my plans were ruined and Kenny and Levi were brought back in...," Mikasa sounded disappointed, "I had no idea that you shared a past. And even now, I can't threaten you with your past because no matter how many of Fritz's cases and records I look through, I still can't find you. And he's dead so I can't question him either."

"You know Levi, don't you?" I questioned, "Why did you bring him into this? And you knew that I'd bring the fake diamond, right? And what did you mean by me listening to you?"

"Alright. Alright. One question at a time," Mikasa poured herself a glass of some drink from a bottle I wouldn't have recognized if one of my brothers didn't run a bar since the bottle didn't have a label. It was a jägermeister. I wondered why she didn't drink vodka instead because it was cold, even inside the building, "Yes, I know Levi. He's my cousin, after all. And yes, I knew that you'd bring a fake diamond because you did lose your trust in me a little and would try to be cautious. And by 'listening to me', I mean exactly that."

"Listen to you? Why would I do that?" I scoffed.

Mikasa turned the monitor of her computer to me before breaking out into a smile and clicking the space on her keyboard to play the video.
