Reader's POV
"So we're just travelling by plane among normal people like we're not wanted fugitives or anything?" Levi looked at me questioningly which was a look I hated because I hated being doubted.
"Yes," I gave a short answer.
"Are you crazy?" Levi narrowed his eyes.
"I think you are the crazy one here, Levi," I wasn't being nice anymore, "For doubting me. I have done this more times than the days you've lived in this kind of life. I know all of this like the back of my hand and someone like you, an ex-cop, should not be questioning a professional's methods especially if the ex-cop in question is in a dire position."
"I'm not an ex-cop," Levi snapped.
"Uh...weren't you suspended?"
"Not that, brat. I am not an ex-cop. I am an ex-captain of the Special Operations Squad."
"But you were still a cop, right?"
"I had a higher position than a cop."
"But you still were a cop, right?"
Levi looked angry, and honestly, I couldn't care less. I laid back down in my first class flight seat and put on my seatbelt before the air hostess even made the announcement.
"Relax, dude. I got you a first class seat. You should try to enjoy yourself."
"I've flown in a first class seat before."
"I'd assume that it wasn't the time when you came over to capture me."
"..."
"Your government is amazing. Giving you a, what I'd assume, an economy seat in an, also what I'd assume, indirect flight so that you could leave the comfort of your country and go somewhere where's language you are not completely acquainted to, to bring your country respect from all over the world."
"..."
"I especially like the fact that they didn't provide you those luxuries even when it could be the last flight of your life, considering that you were going to a country where civilians buy guns from vending machines."
"..."
"This first class flight seat wasn't free for me, you know. I have to pay my acquaintance back double of what he paid for these seats. Of course, I can make money appear in my bank account in the matter of minutes, given my superior hacking skills but still, consider the effort and don't hate the criminal who's taking you to Hawaii in a first class plane seat on their own bill when you serve a government that pays you barely enough to live."
"I don't hate you," Levi murmured out, "Why would you think that I hate you?"
"Oh, I don't know," I vaguely gestured to his face, "Maybe because you keep glaring at me every two seconds."
"I just don't like you, that's all."
"I don't think you understand but that's not much better."
"You nearly died because of me by jumping off the bridge into the water and crashing those cars on purpose back in France. Don't you hate me?"
"No, I don't," I answered honestly, "I never have. You were just doing your job and I was doing mine. Besides, you saved me so I suppose I do owe you. Remind me to gift you something in your bank account before we part."
"No thanks," Levi rejected my offer as he ignored the air hostess giving an announcement and tied his own seatbelt.
But it was tied wrong.
