Levi's POV

"Fuck!" I cursed under my breath as I stood in the museum with my squad and specialists who were trying to investigate our target's weakness in her stealing style. Petra stood beside me, her head facing downwards, clearly unhappy that our target still got away besides the fact that we received leaked information about the crime prior to it actually happening. I didn't understand how she took the diamond from the heavily guarded room, outran me, outsmarted all of our plans, and managed to get away when the roads were blocked. What confused me the most was how she got those extremely violent birds to attack me.

How the investigation was going was annoying too, this museum's manager's lawyer was here too for whatever reason. He said that the manager would be here because he couldn't get a hold of him and since this happened at the museum, he must be here. We were looking for him while investigating too but we didn't need the lawyer here so we stopped him from roaming the place and messing up our work.

At first, I thought it was stupid how Erwin gave me a case for a robbery but, when I read over the files, I thought it was crazy how we were expected to catch her with the information we had. We had her name and face but she just got fake passports and fake skin masks. She had a way around everything we did. Of course, she wasn't flawless, she had been caught a few times, she always escaped soon after and always managed to get the diamond that she had failed in stealing before, no matter how much anyone predicted it. I didn't understand how anyone ever managed to catch her. Those who did once, always failed the second time, it was evident that it was a fluke for them.

The only solid piece of information we had about her whereabouts is that she lives somewhere in the USA. She must've chosen to still live in the USA after she started this must be because it's extremely difficult to locate someone like that in the USA. With how uncooperative people are to investigations, guns can be bought without a license. I don't know how people lived there, I can't compare France's crime rate to the USA. It's not like we even know which state she lives in. Whenever she goes back home, she lands at different airports and must be somehow driving her way home and the country's size and population makes the investigation even harder. The USA itself barely investigates her case at all. It's not surprising since they have more pressing cases but still!

We also know that she is an impeccable hacker, always leaves heat reflecting polish on the fake diamonds she herself makes, is an extremely fast runner and can come up with plans on the spot.

She had done a lot of damage to the place and the police department is going to be responsible for it.

I sighed once again, thinking about 'A', who were they? They gave us information about where our target was going to steal next. How did they know that in the first place? I had so many unanswered questions and I didn't know if they were ever going to be answered.

"Captain!" I heard Eld running towards me.

"Did you find something?"

"The manager of this museum has been found knocked out in his office and with a broken foot, his office's window was also completely shattered. We found a bicycle on the ground just outside the window!"

"Is the manager conscious now?" I asked him.

"Not yet," he told me, "the injury isn't bad but we should take him to the hospital."

"No," I stopped him, "We haven't questioned him yet, it'll be a pain if we have to go to the hospital. Let him be." Eld nodded and left to inform the others. He was used to my style of working by now, I hated wasting time even if it meant being a little ruthless.

I decided that just standing there wasn't doing anything so I went over to check on Gunther as he checked the CCTV cameras.

"Found anything?" I asked Gunther as soon as I reached the security room and saw him looking at the screens along with the guards supposed to be overseeing that.
