Trigger Warning

Narrator's POV

Y/N was paralysed, trying to understand if this was another one of her nightmares, rare hallucinations or real. It felt too real to be a nightmare and couldn't be a hallucination because the entire hall had fallen completely silent to the point that the silence became too loud.

She wanted to run but her legs refused to move, she wanted to scream but her throat felt dry, she wanted to hide but her mind refused to think and only showed her what happened in the past in a loop that hadn't had even its first round yet because the horrid memories were just too many.

"What? You don't remember me? That's strange. I thought that I did enough for you to remember me for multiple lifetimes," He barked, approaching the poor, petrified girl who had no idea what to do and had no one to protect her here. She had her brothers back home to protect her. Maybe she should have taken their advice and not strayed too far from home.

But, of course, she just had to be stubborn. She hated her decision at that moment and deeply regretted it. Three of her brothers were adventurous souls, everyone but Niccolo. She wanted to be able to leave her home and come back anytime she wanted just like most of her brothers but they didn't like her idea because they always just wanted to protect her and keep her safe, especially after what happened because they, unlike Y/N, still acknowledged what happened and just chose not to discuss it in her presence.

She questioned whether she should have stayed back home to avoid this-her brain still not completely processing the situation-and gotten the tech job she had gotten a university degree to qualify for before she made up her mind and chose to take revenge and find the diamond to remember the eyes of the person she valued the most.

She just couldn't remember his eyes. She knew that they were sea blue and she could always see them in photos but they never felt the same. They always had a dullness to them and she refused to remember her brother that way and chose to fight to be able to see the colour of his eyes again.

"What?" She heard his voice again which sent chills down her spine as she shivered and he noticed, "Oh, so you do remember. Then answer me. How dare you ignore me, bitch?!"

Fritz cornered her and held her throat with his hands, pushing her against the wall as she struggled, trying to get out of his chokehold but was unsuccessful. After all, strength wasn't her forte.

But unfortunately, his was.

"Let...me go!" She managed to mutter out but he continued to choke her as her weak hands slapped his wrist with all the strength she could muster at the moment and tried to push him away by pushing at his chest but nothing happened. No one approached the two of them for what she assumed was the fear of the man that terrified her too. She hoped that the cameras in the dining hall were being paid attention too and the guards would come and stop them as she waited but no one came despite the fact that they usually got a quick response in fights.

Then she understood what was happening. Neither Kenny or Levi were at the scene meaning they were still out and they never took that much time and only one thing could be keeping them out.

The guards.

Usually, there was always at least one guard at each gate (two gates in total) of the dining hall but presently, there were none. And the interrogators last night were harsher on her than usual.

They were planning on disposing of her.

Anyone could see at her lines in an interrogation and records of what she said in past interrogations and figure out that she was not planning on confessing, ever. She could fool lie detectors by keeping her pulse consistent and she made her immune system different by trying out medicines so that the drug in the narcos test could either be too less for her or make her faint entirely. They figured that they would never get the diamonds that were stolen back ever again and someone rich must have decided to bribe some of the guards to make sure she died, to keep their diamonds from getting stolen as well.
