Levi's POV

"So what does the note say?" My partner talked to her brother on the phone as she sat on the couch with me, a piece of paper on the coffee table and a pen in her hand.

"I still can't believe that you can't remember such crucial details," I murmured under my breath but she heard me.

"Excuse me?" She looked at me, "I apologise to inform you that I don't spend every second of every minute of every hour of every day of every week of every month of every year of every decade thinking about that colossal plan with an insane amount of details and so I can't remember everything!"

"Whatever," I scoffed.

"Ugh! I hate you!" She grumbled at me before speaking softly into her phone, "What does the note say?"

Is she bipolar or what?

"What?" The brat looked disappointed, "Again? Pock, this is not the time! This is serious! How could you have forgotten?"

I heard a loud voice on the phone speak for a few seconds before Y/N sighed and said goodbye before hanging up the phone.

"What happened?" I questioned.

"My brother forgot his glasses at his place," She sighed, "So he can't read the note."

"Why can't he just send us a picture?"

"Because he can't see! How is he supposed to read the labels?!"

"Why did he come to your place without his glasses then?! He couldn't have forgotten them if he can't even read labels!"

"He's moving into my place from his rental apartment," The thief sighed, "And he thought that his glasses were at my place so he didn't need to take his contact lenses. Half of his stuff is at my place and the other half is at his apartment. I'm here, one of my brother's is busy and the other is in another country so none of us could help him move."

"How the fuck did he get to your house blind then?" I narrowed my eyes, "He can't drive without his glasses if he can't read a label."

"My other brother probably drove him," She answered, "He comes by once a week to clean the place."

"If one of your brothers is unemployed then why don't you get him to clean the place rather than the busy one?" I was genuinely curious, "And why don't you clean it yourself?"

"There's a reason he was fired, Levi," She looked me straight in the eye, "There's lots of things he's good at but those things do not include cleaning. And the reason I don't clean is because I'm not good at it."

"If you're lazy then just be honest."

"That's a part of it," She was surprisingly honest, "But I really am bad at it."

"I can teach you," I offered, "I hate it when people can't clean so I don't mind teaching you."

"Nah," The lazy brat refused, "Why should I? My brother cleans the place. And he gets anime figurines to make up for it. Why should I learn to clean?"

"It's an important life skill-"

"I have roombas roaming around my place. The only cleaning my brother does is getting the dust out of shelves and the tables and yard work. And he does other chores like laundry."

"What do you do then?" I was starting to judge her.

"Don't judge me!" She read what I was doing, "I'm busy. I was doing all that research that will benefit us now."

"So you have little to no survival skills in possibly difficult situations," I scoffed, "Why did I get stuck with you of all people?"

"I don't NEED survival skills!" She argued, "There's a reason why I'm taking an assistant around!"

"I'm not an assistant," I growled.

"So offended by being a thief's assistant?"

"I'm not anybody's assistant."

Before the argument could get more heated, Y/N's phone rang and after looking at who it was from, she accepted the call and got angry a few seconds later.

"What have I told you about the code, Pock? Use it. Don't immediately start talking," She scolded, "I don't want to hear any objections! All rules are not up to you. Like this one, for example, this rule, you have to follow no matter what. Am I clear?"

Never knew that she could be so strict.

"So why are you calling? You couldn't have gotten to your apartment and made it back this quickly. Do you want me to convince that Eren Yeager simp to take you there because you can't convince him?" She asked before gasping, "WHAT?! Are you serious?! Bro just-just send me the pictures, man. I don't know what to say here. Okay. Bye."

"What is it?" I asked once my partner had hung up the call.

"Turns out his glasses were at my place after all," She sighed, "I'm glad that he didn't realise that when he had already gotten to his apartment but rather when he was about to leave my place."

"He is not fit for this job," I commented.

"I know. And I don't want to expose him to this danger either," She sighed, "But I've got no other option. I'm glad that I wrote all the information in my code or he would show up wherever we were going to 'protect' me."

Code? What code?

The confusion on my face didn't go unnoticed by the brat as she quickly explained, "It's Caesar Shift. I won't say the number."

"But how do you read it?"

"By translating the information."

"How much writing is there?"

"Plenty."

"So you mean to say," I was losing my patience, "That you have to translate every letter in your writing to be able to see the information."

"Yes," She nodded.

"Do you have any idea how much time that is going to take?!" I was pissed, "And you would still be in bed at this time if I hadn't threatened you!"

"The event's in a week!" She yelled, "I have more than enough time to read the information and prepare for it! Besides, it's in bullet points! It will make it much quicker to translate!"

"Fuck you!" I swore.

"Fuck you too!" She angrily swore back.

Right then, Y/N got another call on her phone. She picked up her phone and stared at the caller ID I couldn't see because the phone was turned toward her. She looked confused but accepted the call nonetheless.

She put the phone up to her ear as I concluded that it must have been a non saved number which was probably a scam call but my conclusion was denied upon seeing her panicked face...

...with fear haunting her eyes.

A/N = I'm back!

What is a pirate's favourite letter? C. Because it's the Sea.
