Reader's POV

"You're gonna regret it, Pock," Floch folded the laundry that had been washed and dried in the machine and advised Porco to reject my offer as he sat on the couch, head down and sad.

"Don't say that!" I was offended by his words and I looked over at Porco who was sitting on the couch right now and was already on his cab home when he called me.

"But why couldn't you call us sooner? You were all the way in another state so the interview must have been long ago," Floch made a point.

"I was...uh...doing drugs," Porco lied.

"So you were crying," I processed Porco's words, knowing what he meant even though he didn't say it because of his embarrassment.

Porco's face flushed as he turned towards the floor once again.

"So," I continued on, "I'm glad that you accepted the offer of being my assistant. I have a few questions for you and after that, I'll train you."

"I have to do training?!" Porco was shocked.

"Of course you do," Floch answered for me and inserted an insult in his words, "Being a crook is no easy job."

"Floch," I tried to stop Floch from discouraging Porco.

"I can't believe that I'm going to have two thief friends," Floch continued on.

A sob escaped Porco's mouth as Floch understood that he had gone too far when his friend was still sad.

"It's okay, Pock," I frantically tried to comfort him but it was pointless because emotions were my weakness.

"It's Porco!" Apparently, Porco was more focused on his nickname that he didn't like more than Floch's words.

"Okay, okay. Porco. Don't listen to Floch. He always has something to say about what I do but I just ignore him. Now that you're joining me, you should too."

"Okay," Porco quietened down as Floch glared at me, clearly unhappy about me ignoring him but keeping his mouth shut so as to not hurt Porco's feelings more than he already did.

"So," I started my questions, "Do you want to be like me and have a wanted poster of yourself or keep your identity hidden? I can work with both but if you follow the prior then it's way easier. It depends on whether you want to keep the option of returning to the normal world."

"I-I'll join you p-permanently," Porco hiccuped.

"Okay, so I start your training once I'm back."

"When will you be back?"

"I don't know," I got up to get a glass of water, "Depends on whether I come straight back home or take a detour to the prison."

"A detour to the prison. It seems like going to prison doesn't even affect you anymore," Floch taunted in a way that usually Porco would if he wasn't crying.

"Well, it actually doesn't anymore. And if you want to join me," I directed my offer at Floch, "My offer still stands."

"No thanks," Floch dismissed my offer with a wave of his hand, "I'm happy with my business."

"Y/N," Porco asked, "Can I get something to eat?"

"Sure! I have a pack of chips in the cupboard!" I offered.

"I meant like a real meal, idiot," Porco returned to his usual self as did Floch, seeing that he wouldn't have to substitute for Porco anymore.

"Floch! Can you cook something?!"
