A/N: Hey everyone! I hope you're looking forward to this new story. I find it funny because when I went onto TikTok, I found this one edit just floating around my FYP. It was an edit of Junker Queen, or Odessa, and I went, "Who are you?" That right there was my first mistake, just wanting to know who she was and where she was from. And so I decided to look her up on YouTube and found her cinematic trailer. Which the animation was just amazing in that. I really applaud the team or person who worked on that. They did an amazing job and with that being said, they gave me another badass woman in a game to simp over. So there's that. That's how I fell for Junker Queen. And that's how I got back into playing Overwatch.

So with that out of the way, I want to kind of explain what this set up is going to be. I am going to be separating it into parts. And here is how I am going to do it:

The first chapter is a more in modern time or attempt to be in modern time. What I mean by modern time is the events that are taking place in the Overwatch lore. Six chapters following after the first will be events that happened in the past.

The eighth chapter will come back to the modern time line, followed by another six chapters of past events. And that will continue to happen until I reach the modern time line and then I will drop the sectioned off parts. It may sound confusing now, but trust me. Everything will be fine when you start reading. I hope you enjoy the story!

Without further ado, let's get into the story! Sorry for the long intro!

I opened up the door to the small little house I had. It wasn't too bad aside from the numerous things that needed to be updated, such as the door and floor boards. Not to mention it smelled like rusting metal and burning wood thanks to the people who lived in the same vicinity as me. They weren't quite my next door neighbors, but they were in the same general area. The living conditions weren't the greatest here, but I can't complain due to the fact that I have a roof over my head and somewhat working indoor heating, cooling, and plumbing. There are times where the cooling unit comes on during the winter and the heat comes on during the summer months. Other than that, it's a place I can always trust to hold me and someone special to me. Well, not anymore.

I walked around, the floor boards creaking as I swung the door closed, hitting the frame. I sighed and swung around, straightening out the door to make sure it fit into the door frame. It was another thing I needed to get fixed, but with a lot happening at the moment, I wasn't able to fix the door. And no matter how much I tried to find the time, I would never be able to. I had a duty to this place, this town full of humble but yet rowdy people. They weren't always like that at the beginning. They weren't humble, more on the rowdy side. It was something to get used to when I re-entered this town and after being banished to the Wasteland. How could I take what I have for granted? Fighting for what I scavenged and always getting into fights with others, it just wasn't the best for me since I was never as strong as others. But I was quicker than them. That was the only thing I had going for me. It was a sad life, but after finally moving back into Junkertown, I no longer had to worry about those things again.

"Y/N!" I heard someone call from outside.

I was just about to kick off my boots, but I walked over to the door and pryed it open. Another thing I struggle with since they left. Stepping out onto the balcony, I looked down to see it was a friend of mine. Meri. While she was much older than myself, I still enjoyed her company. Geiger was there as well beside Meri. While he couldn't really talk, he was still enjoyable to be around.

"Afternoon, Meri," I said, placing my first two fingers against my forehead and swung outwards, greeting her. "Something troublin' ya?"

"We got some issues down in the arena for The Reckoning," Meri said, her Aussie accent being prominent. "And the Junker Queen isn't exactly here to help out. And you knew her best."

That smile I once had faded. Meri stopped talking and looked down at the ground.

"Sorry, mate. Didn't mean to upset ya."

"It's alright, Meri. I-It just still hurts. I'm comin'. I'll meet ya and Geiger at the arena," I said and walked through the door frame, not even bothering on closing the door.

I grabbed my swords that were by the frame of the door. Moving the door upwards a bit, I pulled it into the door frame and locked it before running down the stairs, jumping over another balcony and landing on the ground, making my way towards the arena. Ever since the Junker Queen left, I had to be the one that would sit in on The Reckoning. While she needed to be there, the others knew her situation and some were accepting of me being in her place, but others didn't. That was when most of the fights for The Reckoning took place. They knew I lacked the strength the Junker Queen had, but they all knew I was much faster than them and I used my speed to my advantage. That was how I was able to get past most of The Reckoning battles, but there were times where I had to rely on the small amount of strength I have. It still wasn't enough at times. I walked into the arena to see the fighters were yelling at Meri and Geiger. Making my way to them, I put myself in between the fighters and my comrades.

"What's the problem, mates?" I asked.

"We don't want to fight ya," the fighters yelled at me. "We want to fight the Junker Queen."

"Junker Queen ain't here, mate," Meri said.

"When is she coming back?"

"No idea. So you either fight me or you wait until she returns."

They scoffed, "She ain't ever coming back."

"You never know," I said. "Maybe she'll be back today or tomorrow."

"If she ain't back within two weeks, I'm going to fight you. I'm tired of waiting on 'er," they spat on the ground and walked off.

I turned to Geiger and Meri, thanking them for the backup if they were to get out of hand. Not wanting to return to my house just yet, I walked around Junkertown, watching the interactions between people here and there. Something that the Junker Queen wanted was to create a town where there was mercy shown, but only use it when necessary. Like how she showed Mason Howl mercy when she won The Reckoning. I took her actions in stride and she taught me different things I never learned when I was younger. That was one of the many things I am grateful towards her for. She was ruthless at times, but let others go when necessary.

The sun was starting to set and I decided it was time to go home. Heading over to where my house was, I jumped onto one of the balconies that was close to my height. Pulling myself over the railing, I walked up the stairs and unlocked the door, swinging it open and shutting it close with my foot, but I turned and moved it to where it fit in the door frame. Kicking off my boots, I opened the only window a crack to let the fresh air in. I walked over to my bed and sat down on the edge of it, looking at the picture that was framed. It was me and the Junker Queen, celebrating her win over Mason Howl. It was a momentous day for not only her, but for us. I fell onto the side of the bed, staring at the photo.

"If only you were here, Dez," I whispered, feeling the weariness and letting my body fall asleep, thinking I had imagined the feeling of Dez's warm arms wrap around my waist, pulling me into her well built body, planting her signature kiss to the back of my neck before resting her head ontop of mine.
