She practically kicked the door open to the house when we made our way back into Junkertown and after we saw the doctor to get the bullet wound taken care of. Swinging it closed with her foot, she set Carnage and my swords by the door and walked over to the bedroom. Kicking off her shoes and slipping mine off, she sat down on the edge of the bed. I rested on her lap, my head on her shoulder. Her cheek was nuzzled against mine and I could feel the imprint of her hands on my back. She moved her hands to trail underneath my shirt, feeling the rough pads of her fingers run up and down my skin.
"What were ya thinkin', Y/N? Takin' 'em on like that," she said, pulling away to look at me.
"I-I wanted to give ya a breather with dealin' with those boneheads."
"I'm the Queen, princess. That's my job to deal with boneheads like 'em. Ya could have gotten seriously hurt," she said.
"So could you," I said.
"Y/N, I appreciate ya wanted to help, but compared to me, you're not as intimidating."
"I know," I said defeatedly, my head falling towards my chest.
"But that ain't a bad thing," she placed her hand gently under my chin, pulling my head up to look at her. "It gives me more of a reason to look after ya."
"I can take care of myself, Dez, but," I sighed and fell into her embrace. "I don't know. I wanted to do something, like lookin' out for ya, but I guess you're always gonna look after me."
"I'll continue to do it day in and out. I care a lot about ya, Y/N. I know ya already know. You're probably tired of hearin' me say it, but I'll never let ya forget it."
"I don't mind hearin' it everyday," I chuckled quietly.
"You are my treasure after all," she placed a kiss to my head. "My love, my dear, my princess, my queen," she placed kisses on my head after each nickname that escaped her mouth.
I smiled, feeling her lips press against my head and hearing those terms of endearment. I closed my eyes, letting some tears slip down my face quietly as I enjoyed being in her care. She looked down at me and wiped the tears away from my eyes.
"No need to cry, love," she whispered.
"I just love bein' in your arms and bein' taken care of."
She lightly chuckled, "I guess I do spoil ya a bit."
"It's not a bad thing."
"I guess not."
She fell back onto the bed and my head rested on her chest, listening to her heart beat. I moved to where I looked up at her.
"What's wrong, princess?"
"Don't ya need to continue workin'?"
"I could ask the same thing to ya," she smirked.
I sighed, rolling my eyes playfully as I snuggled closer to her.
"There's ya answer. Besides, I gotta look after ya now since you're injured."
"I can take care of myself," I said, getting a little defensive.
"Just like how ya took care of yourself when Junkrat shot ya."
"I had the situation under control."
"Sure ya did," she laughed.
I pulled away, looking up at her, "I did so."
"It was under control when I showed up and scared 'em off."
"You can scary anyone off," I laughed.
"I didn't scare you off," she reached up, placing her hand on my cheek, caressing it with her thumb.
I leaned into her touch, feeling the warmth came from her hand. I reached up and placed my hand on hers, feeling the back of her hand with my palm.
"I'm just glad you're ok," she said.
"With you around, I'm always going to be ok."
She pressed a kiss to my forehead before I placed my head back against her chest, listening to her heart once more. It calmed me enough to lull me off to sleep, which in turn led her to fall asleep as well. When I opened my eyes, insteading of laying horizontally on the bed, with Odessa's legs dangling from the edge, we were in the right position, with our heads on the pillows. Odessa still had her arms wrapped around me and I was still nuzzled into her chest. I smiled to myself and looked up to see Odessa was still sleeping or so I thought. When I leaned up to press a kiss to her cheek, her eyes opened up and met my gaze.
"Evenin', princess."
"And ya say I am bad at hidin' that I'm not asleep. Ya gotta get better at pretending to be asleep," I chuckled.
"I was asleep," she defended.
"Sure ya were."
Odessa shook her head and pressed a kiss to my forehead, "Feelin' better? I know it's only been a few hours, but I just want to make sure you're fine."
"I'm alright. Better than when I got shot."
"That's good. While you were asleep, I went and called Overwatch to see how that child is doing."
"How is she doing?" I asked.
"Doin' well. We're going to be heading there tonight to bring 'er here."
"Tonight?"
"Yeah. I asked Meri and Geiger to watch over everythin' while we're gone. Better get ready, princess. Our ride should be 'ere soon," she said, pecking my cheek before getting up.
I got up and fixed my hair a bit before we were both ready to head out. Grabbing the keys, I locked the door and followed Odessa to the gates. The guard greeted us and Meri and Geiger came up to us.
"We won't be gone for long," Odessa said. "We should be back before mornin'. If anyone tries to do anything funny, just lock them in the arena for a bit."
"Yes, your majesty," Meri said.
"And if ya see Junkrat and Roadhog, leave them to me when I get back."
Both of them nodded. The gates opened up and there was a large hovercraft by the gates. We said goodbye to Meri and Geiger before walking out of Junkertown. The gates closed when we exited and the door to the hovercraft opened up. Zipping from the pilot's seat came a young lady with brown hair and had these orange tech glasses. What she was wearing was pretty elaborate. She looked like she came from the future.
"Hi, Junker Queen!" she smiled at Odessa.
"Tracer, long time no see," Odessa smiled, greeting her comrade. "Y/N, this is Tracer. Tracer, Y/N."
"Ah, you're Y/N! Junker Queen has talked a lot about you since she came to the base. It's so nice to finally meet you," she said and shook my hand.
"Nice to meet ya as well."
"Well, come on in, guys. We should be at headquarters soon," she zipped back inside.
"Is she always like this?" I asked.
"Fast?"
"Yes."
"Yeah. Ya get used to it," Odessa said, taking my hand and helping me jump into the hovercraft. Once she was in, the doors closed and Tracer lifted it off the ground and flew into the air.
"Next stop: Gibraltar."
