Odessa shoved Junkrat against a wall, but since Roadhog was a bit bigger, she had kicked him against the wall. She put her hand by Junkrat's head and sneered in his face.
"First ya steal from your queen and then ya blow up my summer shack!" Odessa yelled.
Meri was the one who told us about Junkrat blowing up her summer shack while we were on the hunt for Junkrat and Roadhog. Of course, they were at the warehouse telling Hammond of their spoils and what they did. He was never one to keep his mouth shut and keep their cover from being blown. And here I thought I trusted Junkrat and Roadhog. Who knows what they have been stealing from underneath my nose.
"M-My Queen, please think about this," Junkrat said.
"Think about this?!" she yelled once more. "I don't gotta think about this right now, Junkrat. Ya go behind ya queen's back and cross me. You were never the smartest man here in Junkertown, but at least you were smart enough to not touch Y/N."
"I-I knew I would be punished severely if I even looked at her the wrong way when you're around."
"The only thing ya know other than how to make explosives and stealing from people. Tell me, Fawkes, who else did ya steal from?"
He was silent, but Odessa grabbed him by the black shirt he was wearing, pulling him closer to her face.
"Who else did ya steal from?" she said in a hushed whisper, but there was some bite to it.
"J-Just you, my Queen."
"That's gonna get ya thrown out," she said and dropped Junkrat onto the ground.
"Meri, escort Roadhog and I will take Junkrat. Geiger, please see that Y/N gets back to our house in one piece."
Geiger nodded and I walked towards him, looking over my shoulder to see Odessa pick up Junkrat and set him down, but she poked him in the back with her gun. While I had seen Odessa angry and putting up a fight, this was something different that I couldn't help but think about what will happen if someone does end up hurting me.
"Thanks, Geiger," I said and jumped onto the balcony.
He waved goodbye and so did I. Walking up the stairs, I opened the door and headed into our small house. Slipping off my shoes, I walked over to our bedroom and flopped down onto the bed, waiting for Odessa to return. She came back when the sun was starting to set. The door swung open, hitting the wall before it being slammed shut. Hearing a clunk and some curse words as shoes were being slipped off, Odessa came over and walked into the bathroom, more curse words flying out of her mouth.
"Dez?" I sat up on the bed, looking into the bathroom.
There was more muttering and curse words. I got up and walked over to her, placing a hand on her shoulder. She abruptly turned around and got in my face.
"What, Y/N?!" she said loudly, but it wasn't a yell.
I took a step back, my heart racing and my entire body started to shake. I opened and closed my mouth a bit before looking down at the floor, "I-It's nothing."
She let out a sigh and brushed her fingers through her hair, "Princess, I-I didn't mean to snap at ya."
"It's ok, Odessa. I-I understand why," I turned and went to crawl back onto the bed, but she reached over and grabbed my wrist. Turning my head to look over my shoulder at her, her eyes and facial expression said it all.
Her eyes were avoiding mine and her face looked sad, upset even. I turned, her hand still wrapped around my wrist. She stood there for a bit before she let go of it, turning around and closing the door to the bathroom. I walked over to the bed and laid down on my side, my back facing the bathroom door. The door swung open and the light turned off, the only light illuminating the room was the lamp on my side of the bed. Odessa walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge of the bed before swinging her legs onto the mattress, moving to where she was looking at my back. I heard her shift around before I felt her presence above my head.
"Y-Y/N? Princess?"
"Yeah?" I said quietly.
"C-Can I talk to ya, love?"
I turned around to see her hair was down and a sad look was in her eyes. They even looked glossy, as if she had been crying for a while. And this was the first time I had seen her face without that facepaint. Even if she had scared me a few moments ago, seeing her like this, so vulnerable and soft, it made me want to cry. I wrapped my arms around her neck, pulling her into a hug. She wrapped her arms around my waist and moved into an upwards sitting position. I rested my head on her chest and her hand combed through my hair.
"D-Did I scare ya back there?"
"A little bit," I said. "I knew you were tough when it came to the Junkers obeying the rules ya put in place, but seeing how ya treated Junkrat and Roadhog, it scared me. I think it was mostly due to shock of people who I thought could be trusted betrayed us. They betrayed the wrong person to boot. But ya only startled me when ya came into the house and acted like that."
"I'm sorry, princess. I was just frustrated with everythin'."
"I know ya were, Dez. I don't blame ya," I said, looking into those lovely amber eyes of hers.
That sad look disappeared and it was replaced with a look of relief. She pressed her forehead against mine and held onto me tightly. Her hand rubbed up and down my back while the other played with my hair. She pressed a few kisses to my forehead before pulling away, looking down at me. I pushed myself up and placed a kiss against her lips. Her lips curled into a smile as she kissed back. She rolled over to where we were both lying on our sides. I pulled away, placing a hand on her cheek, caressing the scar she got from the Reckoning. Reaching up, she grabbed my hand and caressed the back of it with her thumb.
"I love you, Y/N."
"I love you, too, Dez."
