In the morning, we said goodbye to everyone who was there, which weren't many. It was just Kiriko, Winston, Genji, and Tracer, since she would be the one to fly us back to Junkertown. They walked us to the hangar where Tracer zipped into the aircraft and opened the door from inside. Genji gave us some inspiring words before he headed back into the base, leaving Winston and Kiriko.
"Take care you two. If you need anything, you know where to call," Winston said.
"Oh, Y/N, before you go," Kiriko walked over to us.
"What's up, Kiriko?"
She handed me a little fox statue that was made from stone. It was almost an icy blue color and it was very detailed.
"Did ya make this?"
"I did. I wanted you to have the fox spirit look after you," she smiled.
"Thank you, Kiriko," I said and hugged her goodbye. Odessa did the same before she helped me into the aircraft.
"Let the kitsune guide you!" Kiriko smiled, waving to us as the doors closed and Tracer flew out of the hangar.
I sat down next to Odessa who promptly wrapped her arm around my shoulder, pulling me into hers.
"Get some rest, Y/N. It's going to be a bit of a flight before we get back," she said, resting her head against the back of the chair she was sitting on.
"Dez?"
"Yes, princess?"
"What would ya do if we lost the child?"
She let out a sigh, "Let's not think about that right now, babe."
I nodded, closing my eyes and falling asleep, but I was unable to with the uncertainty of what was going to happen with this process we were going to go through. I opened my eyes to see the Wastelands sands were greeting us. I sighed, knowing I didn't sleep well and I don't think Odessa did either. Looking up, her gaze was fixated on the sands below as they got closer and closer to the windshield.
"Are you guys up?" Tracer asked.
"Yeah," Odessa said, turning to see I was awake. "I'm surprised you're awake."
I chuckled, "Couldn't really sleep well."
"Now that we're home, hopefully we can get some sleep."
"I need to get some work done, now that we're four hands short," I said, getting up and waiting for the door to open up.
It slowly opened up and so did the gates to Junkertown. Tracer zipped beside us and smiled.
"It was so nice to finally meet you, Y/N," she said and hugged me.
"It was nice to meet you as well, Tracer," I said, hugging her back.
She pulled away and looked up at Odessa, trying to figure out she was going to hug her. She bent down and lifted Tracer up, hugging her that way.
"Nice to see ya again, Tracer," Odessa said, setting her down.
"It was nice seeing you again as well, Junker Queen."
"Please, just Odessa."
"Are you sure?" she asked.
"Yes."
"Alright, then the next time we see, please call me Lena."
"You got it, Lena," Odessa said, helping me out of the aircraft.
She jumped down and we waved to Tracer before she closed the door, lifting off once more and disappearing into the sky. Odessa wrapped her arm around my shoulders as we walked back into Junkertown.
"How ya feelin' love?" Odessa asked as we were closing in where the house was.
"A bit tired, but I'll be alright."
She stopped and stood in front of me, making me look up at her, which meant I had to bend my head almost all the way backwards.
"If you're not feelin' great, you should get your rest. We're by the house so I'll make sure you're settled before I head over to the office buildin'," she said.
"Can I come with ya?" I asked shyly.
She smiled, seeing how cute I was being. She placed her hands underneath my arms and lifted me up, finally being on her level.
"You're so cute when you get like that," she scrunched up her nose a tad, kissing the tip of mine.
I smiled and I wrapped my arms around her neck and my legs wrapped around her waist. Making sure I was secured, she walked towards the office building. I rested my head on her shoulder, getting a good look at the surroundings around me due to her height.
"Have I ever told ya your height is amazing?" I ran my hands in the back of her hair.
She snickered, "Ya never did."
"Well it is," I smiled. "With being short or I guess average height, being about another two whole feet from the ground, this is amazing."
"While being taller does have its perks, especially with ya, it can be a bit of trouble with getting through some doors. And of course it helps that when I stand up and people don't expect me to be this tall, they get easily intimidated."
I chuckled, "I'd like to see a guy try to pick a fight with ya."
"We could go to the bar and you'll see someone try to pick a fight with me."
"Just don't go too hard on them."
"I make no promises, princess."
"Ok when it comes to matters other than me, don't go too hard on them."
She chuckled, nuzzling her cheek against mine, "I still don't make any promises, love."
We walked into the building and she closed the door with her foot. Heading up the stairs, she was about to walk into the bedroom, but she walked into the throne room and sat down, setting me on her lap as she leaned forward to do some work on the desk. I used her shoulder as my pillow and slowly drifted off to sleep.
The door opened up and I picked my head up to see who it was. It was Meri. Using my head to point at Y/N, Meri nodded her head and got out of her mech, walking over to my desk.
"What's up, Meri?" I asked, whispering.
"Just wanted to see where Y/N was since the warehouse wasn't open."
"Sorry about that. I should've come by to let you and Geiger know she was going to be coming back 'ere with me."
"It's alright, my queen," she said.
"You guys deserve a break anyway. You're all working so hard," I said and looked at Y/N's sleeping form, running my hand up and down her back.
"Especially that one," Meri chuckled.
I chuckled as well, "She is something."
"Well, just wanted to make sure she was ok. You doin' ok?"
"Couldn't be better," I said, looking down at Y/N, kissing the side of her head.
