The two us were laying beside one another as we were looking up at the moon. My head was resting on Odessa's shoulder and my hand was resting on her exposed stomach. Her one arm was wrapped around my shoulders and the other was behind her head.

"Dez?"

"Yeah, Y/N?"

"I have something for ya."

"For me?" she asked.

I got up and grabbed my bag that was still on the motorcycle.

"Close your eyes," I said, holding what I had made her behind my back.

"Alright," she chuckled, sitting up, and closing her eyes.

I sat beside her and placed what I had made her in her hands, "Alright, open them."

She opened her eyes and looked down at the metal flowers I had made her. The paint job wasn't the best, but at least it was there.

"Y/N," she smiled, looking over at me. "Ya made these for me?"

"Of course I did. I know an actual flower would die instantly, so I made them. And I wanted to thank ya for everything ya've done for me."

She smiled and pulled me into a hug, "Believe me when I say this, I love the thought and effort ya put into it. I truly do. It's amazing craftsmanship. However, bringing me out here and sharing a kiss with ya, was all the thanks I need."

I smiled and nuzzled the side of my face against hers, "I know, but I wanted to go above and beyond because you would do the same."

She set the metal flowers aside and fell back into the sand, dragging me down with her. I rested my head on her chest while my arms were around her neck. Hers were around my waist and her hands were slowly rubbing up and down my back.

"We definitely needed this," she said. "After everything we've been through."

"Yeah," I yawned, getting comfortable.

"Get some rest, Y/N."

"Aren't ya worried about what's out 'ere?"

"I'll keep an eye out," she said, looking around. "You just get some sleep."

"What about you?"

"Don't worry about me."

"I'm always going to worry about ya."

She looked down at me and met my gaze, "I really mean that much to ya?"

"If ya didn't, I wouldn't have kissed ya."

She chuckled, "Ya got me there."

"Just make sure you get some sleep. I don't want to be the one driving back to the house."

"I'll get some sleep, don't you worry," she said and closed her eyes.

Before drifting off to sleep, I turned my head and looked into the distance to see the figures of my grandparents. My grandmother smiled while my grandfather winked at me before disappearing. I smiled, nuzzling closer to Odessa.

"Thanks," I whispered to myself before dozing off.

In the morning, we made sure we had everything before getting onto the motorcycle. Odessa climbed on and I got behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist. She revved the engine before driving off into the dunes, heading back home. It was a bit of a long drive, but the best thing about it was that it was a straight drive back. She removed one of her hands from the handles and placed them on my hands.

"Ya doing alright back there?" she yelled over the roar of the engine.

"I'm doing fine. You?"

"Best I can, but I am doing better with you 'ere."

I chuckled, she knew how to get my heart fluttering or even flying at that. When we reached my house, she slowed down and walked the motorcycle underneath the makeshift overhead we had for it. She turned it off and took out the key, putting down the kickstand in the process. I jumped off and removed what we used to cover up the tracks. She grabbed my bag and handed it to me.

"I should be heading back to my house. Are we still on for training later?" she asked.

"Yeah, I'd be down to get some training in."

"Good," she smiled.

"Oh before you go, Dez, don't forget these," I said and pulled out the metal flowers from my bag.

"Thank you, Y/N," she said, taking them from my hand. "And before I go."

She wrapped her arm around my waist, pulling me towards her. Placing a small peck on my lips before pulling away.

"I'll see ya later," she winked before turning and sliding down the sand dune.

She left me standing there, dazed from what she had done. I giggled to myself, feeling my heart soar and the warmth on my cheeks growing by the second. It felt like I was flying in the air whenever I was around her. I wanted to chase that high as much as I could and as long as I could. I turned, almost stumbling, and headed inside. Once I walked in, I set the keys on the counter and headed into my room, flopping down onto my makeshift bed. My dad walked over to the door frame and leaned against it.

"How did it go?" he asked.

I giggled once more, turning to face my father, "Went better than I expected."

He smiled, taking note of the look in my eyes, "I'm glad ya got to find happiness in this world, Y/N. Especially in the place we're currently in."

I smiled and fell back onto the bed, "That entire night was perfect. It was a clear night and everything. Dad?"

"Yeah?"

"Are you spiritual?"

"Kind of. More so your mum."

"I think nana and papa had something to do with it being a clear night and seeing the stars. I think they wanted me to take that chance that night and so they made it a clear night to help."

He smiled, "I was thinking about that, actually, seeing the clear night which we rarely see. I do think your grandparents lent a hand in helping ya get with Odessa."

I nodded, "They did a great job at it, too."

"Well, your mum might want to hear the news of you two. I would be prepared for her to be really happy and talk your ear off with the many questions she might have," he chuckled. "You know how she can be."

"Yeah."

"Are ya going to be ready for it?"

I looked over at my father, seeing the look in his eyes. I nodded my head, "Ya bet I'll be."
