A/N: This is where the story is going to continue in modern time, so the part and numbers in front of the chapters are going to be dropped from here on out.

The raid bells were going off like crazy and everyone were getting their weapons ready. Junkrat and Roadhog were heading in the direction of the gate and so was Meri and Geiger. Meri ran past the office building when I ran out.

"Meri, can you give me a lift?" I asked.

Her mech's arm reached out and I jumped onto it. She ran off in the direction of the gate and I watched as all of Junkertown was ready to defend their homes. There hadn't been a single raid since Odessa was announced as queen. When we reached the front of the crowd, Roadhog, Junkrat, Geiger, and Hammond were all there waiting for me. I climbed onto the top of Meri's mech and stood up, whistling to get the crowd's attention.

"Listen up, folks!" I yelled.

The crowd went silent as they looked up at me.

"I know I am not as strong as Odessa. That is a given and that will always remain a fact in my life. But however, with the lot of ya behind me, I know that we can make it through this raid. We are the people of Junkertown!"

"YEAH!" the crowd yelled.

"We have seen worse than raids before!"

"YEAH!"

"And we're not going to let someone stop us from defending our home!"

"YEAH!"

"People of Junkertown!" I yelled, pounding a fist on my chest before raising my swords. "Let us defend our home!"

"YEAH!"

I jumped down from Meri's mech and looked at the gatekeeper. I nodded and they slowly opened up the gates. Getting ready, I was expecting the raiders to force the gates open with how little of an opening there was, but as the gates got higher to the point where I could see the Wastelands, I stood there, ready for a surprise attack. But there was none.

"Don't let your guard down!" I yelled to the people.

There could be an attack any minute now, but as I looked into the distance, someone was walking towards the gate. Since it was dark outside and there were barely any lights, I could hardly see their figure. All I saw was something tall walking my way, but as it got closer, something about them stood out.

"Well," a familiar voice rang. "I shouldn't be surprised to see Junkertown welcoming their queen home after all this time."

"Dez?" I asked.

Walking past the gates and into the light stood Odessa. She smirked at me, "G'day, princess."

I dropped my swords and ran towards her, tears flying from my eyes as she was so close to me. I jumped into her arms and she spun me around. I wrapped my legs around her waist and I buried my face in her shoulder, crying uncontrollably now.

"You're back!" I said through sobs.

Her one hand ran through my hair while the other rubbed up and down my back as she cooed in my ear, "Shh, shh, princess. I'm here now. I'm here."

"Welcome back Junker Queen!" Junkrat yelled.

All of Junkertown cheered as Odessa turned towards them. She silenced them for a moment so I could compose myself.

"You alright there, love?" she looked down at me.

I nodded my head, wiping my eyes, "Y-Yeah."

She smiled and then moved me to where I was on her shoulders.

"Your Queen has returned!" I shouted into the crowd.

She bent down and grabbed my swords, handing them to me as she walked away from the gate so they could close them back up. The crowd cheered and welcomed Odessa home. She was happy to be back with her people. She greeted them in a manner only she would. But while the entire town was out celebrating, the two of us were on the balcony together. We looked down to see there were people running around, laughing, drinking, and doing whatever they were doing to celebrate the return of their queen. As for me, I was never letting her go. She was leaning against the railing, holding me in her arms. My head was against her chest and my arms were wrapped around her waist.

I looked up at her, noticing that her hair has changed. Her hair was now entirely blue, she had a mohawk running down the center of her head. There was no more ponytail that had hair covering the back of her neck. The sides however still remained the same as they were braided. There were many scars along her arms and stomach. And instead of the two white lines that went down her eyes, it was more of a mask appearance. There was a large, dark rectangle that went from both sides of her head and two small streaks underneath her eyes. Her bottom lip piercing became a lip ring and there were two pointed studs on both sides on her upper eye, near the bottom of the forehead. The ones that were underneath her left eye were removed.

"Sorry it took so long to come back, princess," she said.

I didn't care what I was feeling when she was gone. I was just relieved she was back and was back alive. I jumped up and she caught me as I wrapped my legs around her waist and my arms found their place around her neck. Smiling at her, I pecked her lips a few times before placing my forehead against hers.

"I'm just relieved you're back and you're alive."

She smiled, "I'll have to tell ya all about the time in Overwatch."

"I can't wait to hear it."

"But," she walked over to the open door and closed it. Thankfully I got it fixed before she returned. Heading into the bedroom, she placed me onto the bed and slipped off her boots. I kicked mine off and she straddled me, pinning me between the bed and her. "I need to give ya some attention. I haven't given it to ya in a very long time and I missed ya," she smirked at me, winking.

"I'm yours tonight, Dez. I'll do as ya please."

She hovered above me and smiled, pecking my lips, "Atta girl."
