Walking back into the house and sitting down on the bed, my mind tried to wrap around what I had just saw. I laid down and stared at the ceiling, not knowing what to do. While I was grateful she was there to protect me, was she going to act like this all the time someone attempts or does hurt me? I hope not. It was like the boys back in the Wastelands. While she didn't do anything to draw blood, seeing her draw blood this easily was something I never wanted to witness. Maybe it was just me because I have never seen her do that before. I knew she was capable, but she never did it in my presence.

The sun started to set and I decided it was time to get up, but when I was about to, the door opened up and Odessa walked through. She was breathing heavily and a look of concern was in her eyes.

"Dez? Is something the matter?"

She took in a deep breath before walking towards me.

"You remember Jay, right?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"Something happened with her parents."

"What do ya mean?"

"Ever since we resumed training together, they started to change around me."

"Was it because they know now?" I asked.

"Yes. I talked to them for a bit and it turns out, Jay was closeted as well. They kicked 'er out and practically disowned 'er."

"Where is she now?"

"Right outside."

I slowly stood up and opened the door, seeing Jay was leaning against the railing of the balcony, looking down at the people below. I walked up beside her, seeing the somber look in her eyes.

"Who would have thought that my parents would disown me because of who I am," Jay said. "They said I was influenced by the queen. They had no idea that you two were together. They just thought you two were very very close friends."

"They couldn't piece two and two together when we were walking around holding hands or Odessa had her arm wrapped around my waist?"

"They never saw you two outside together. They rarely went outside. That's why they didn't know for the longest time. It wasn't until Odessa came back to train me that they finally knew. The wedding you two had was when they finally realized it."

"I'm sorry for what happened to ya, Jay," I said.

"Thank you."

"Excuse me," I said and walked inside to find Odessa was standing by the door. I closed it and looked up at her.

"This is the opportunity we've been waitin' for, Y/N," Odessa said.

"Even if she's not considered ours, ya still want to look after her?"

"She's just a kid. Not even sixteen yet. And 'er parents threw 'er out. If we need to step into the parental role, we must. For the sake of the child we lost," she reached down, taking my hand.

I nodded my head, "My thoughts exactly."

She leaned down and pressed a kiss to my lips before opening the door up.

"Jay," Odessa said.

"Yes?" she turned, looking at her.

"We're takin' ya in."

"What? I-I couldn't ask ya to do that."

"Ya don't need to. We decided it," Odessa smiled.

"A-Are ya sure?" Jay looked over at me.

"Consider us your mums now!" I smiled.

Tears streamed down Jay's eyes as I walked over to hug her. Odessa came up and grabbed the both of us, being careful of my healing wounds, and hugged the two of us.

"We're one gay happy family!" Odessa smiled.

"You do know gay means happy and homosexual, right?" Jay asked.

"Couldn't be gayer!" Odessa chuckled and walked into the house.

She set us down and we looked around, realizing we didn't get this house set up to have another person live in here.

"I can sleep on the couch. I don't mind," Jay said.

"Nope, you are not sleepin' on the couch. We can think of somethin," Odessa said. "Actually."

Odessa walked out of the house and looked at the one that was beside us. She walked over to it and opened the door, finding it was unoccupied. She grabbed the keys that were inside of the drawer and walked out, coming back inside.

"Ya may not be old enough to be considered an adult, but to me, you're old enough to live in a place by yourself. We're right here if ya need anything," Odessa said and handed Jay the keys to the house right beside us.

"A-Are ya sure, Odessa?" Jay asked.

"Of course. I trust ya," she smiled. "I trained ya since you were about ten. So I've known ya for about five years. You're a good kid, Jay. And you're going to be the best I know."

Jay smiled, taking the keys and hugging Odessa tightly. Odessa smiled and hugged Jay back, "Have ya been training what I taught ya since the last time we met?"

"I've been doin' my best," she pulled away, looking at Odessa.

"Why don't we head down there," Odessa pointed her head to the area that was below us. "And we can train for a bit."

"Sure!" Jay said, walking out to grab her weapon that was in its case. She walked into the house beside us and placed the case by the door.

I walked over to Odessa and she wrapped my arm around my shoulder, "How are ya feelin', princess?"

"A bit better. I want to watch you two train. It might bring me back to when we trained together," I smiled.

She nodded, "You're welcome to join us."

"Oh, Dez," I said, grabbing onto her hand before she walked out of the house.

"Yeah, love?"

"I-I want to talk to ya later today."

"Is everythin' alright, Y/N?" she turned to face me. "I can talk about it right now if ya need to."

"No," I shook my head. "It can wait."

"Are ya sure, Y/N?"

"Yes. Go on. Jay is waitin' for ya. I'll be out in a little bit."

She sighed but pressed a quick kiss to my lips. "Alright."

Grabbing Carnage, she walked out of the house and headed down to the small area that was below us. I walked out, leaning against the railing as I watched Odessa spar with Jay. Even though I worked on Jay's weapon, which was similar to Carnage, but it was unique to Jay. It was an ax, but if she pressed a button, the top of the ax would drop, revealing it was connected to a chain. So while it was close range, it was also long range. I smiled to myself, thinking of the time where I watched Odessa work with the younger kids with learning how to fight.
