CHAPTER 27

"GOOD MORNING, daughter-in-law!" masiglang bati ng ina ni Keanu kay Ava nang pumasok ito sa Alpha's suite at nakita ni Kiana si Ava na nakaupo sa living room ng Alpha's suite. And Ava looks like she's in deep thoughts. Kumunot ang nuo ni Kiana nang makita si Ava na nakatitig sa kawalan at parang may malalim na iniisip. Mukhang hindi rin siya nito narinig. Nilapitan ni Kiana si Ava.

"Ava."

Napakurap si Ava saka tinignan ang ina ni Keanu. "Mommy?"

Ngumiti si Kiana saka umupo sa tabi ni Ava. "Are you alright? Parang wala ka sa sarili mo."

Ava sighed. "I'm just nervous, Mommy." Tinignan niya ang sariling palad.

"It's okay. It's normal."

Umiling si Ava saka napabuga ng hangin. "Mommy, it's not okay. It's not normal."

Kumunot ang nuo ni Kiana. "What do you mean, Ava?"

"Mommy, tonight is my Luna's ceremony. I..."

"Are you not ready?" Kiana asked.

Nagbaba ng tingin si Ava. "It's not that I am ready but Keanu...he doesn't know me at all. I have my secret and that secret, I may not able to share it with him. Once I told him about my secret, our relationship might be ruined." Natigilan si Kiana pero hinintay niya ang iba pang sasabihin ni Ava. "Once I accepted formally my title as the Luna of this pack, the responsibility will be on my shoulder. Just like Keanu, our responsibility is to protect our people. I..."

Hinaplos ni Kiana ang buhok ni Ava. "Ava, I heard from Keanu that you are different from any woman. Keanu also told me that you are unique and extraordinary and we are bit alike in our personality."

Ava looked at Keanu's mother. "Alike?"

Tumango si Kiana. "Sabi ni Keanu at ng daddy niya, may pagkakapareho daw tayong dalawa. And I agreed to them. Kasi habang kasama ka rito sa pack house, nakita ko talaga ang pagkakapareho nating dalawa. We are both a fighter and stubborn."

Ava just sighed. "Mommy, what if one day I will leave without saying goodbye? Will you be mad at me?"

Kiana gently touched Ava's face. "It depends on your reason. I won't judge you just because you left without saying goodbye. Instead, I will tell my son to look for you." Pinisil niya ang pisngi ni Ava.

"Why?"

"Because you are the only who fits to be the Luna of Bright Moon Pack and no one else."

"Nancy Wintle?" tanong ni Ava.

Kiana rolled her eyes. "Don't ever mentioned that name. It's disgust me. Hindi ko pa rin makalimutan ang ginawa niya. She even played dirty tricks."

Natawa ng mahina si Ava. "Mommy," yumakap si Ava sa braso ni Kiana, "thank you."

Kiana gently tapped Ava's hand. "Thank you for accepting my son."

Ava smiled while still hugging Kiana.

While Kiana couldn't help herself but to look at Ava. Everyone has a past and they have their own experiences. I hope that she could face her past and stay with Keanu.

"KEANU!" Ava just jumped on Keanu's back and she kissed him on his nape.

Tumawa naman si Keanu saka nagpatuloy sa paglalakad habang nakasampa naman sa likuran niya si Ava. "What's the matter?"

Umiling si Ava. "Wala naman. Gusto lang kitang makita."
