So um. College AU with angst. Their dorms, Wangshu Inn, get burned down.

Classes finally ended for the week. Aether was ready to spend the weekend studying and cuddling with Xiao. Even though they were in different courses, they knew what the other did and how to prepare for it.
They decided to have a study date on top of the roof while looking at the stars. The blond brought blankets and pillows while the raven brought snacks.
"You just wanted to cuddle, didn't you? That's fine with me. But only for a couple of minutes."-Xiao
Aether giggled and gave his lover a kiss. He laid his head in his lap while looking at the stars.
"Hey. Why are those people down there? Is there some sort of protest? They don't look like they go to our school."-Aether
A crowd of people were holding lights and breaking windows. Some children were there too. They were wearing black outfits and had something written on the shirt. The blond couldn't make out the words.
"We can go inside and continue studying if you want."-Xiao
"Yeah."-Aether
Aether stuffed the books inside his bag. Xiao grabbed the blankets and pillows. They went to go study in Xiao's dorm since it was closer. They laid on the bed and continued studying.
Soon they fell asleep. Aether cleaned up everything. He knew how Xiao liked his dorm room. The blond put the last book in his bag and cuddled his lover to sleep. They'll settle who's who books in the morning.

A window shattered. That woke Aether right up. It was a torch that was inflamed. He grabbed both of their bags and phones and woke up Xiao.
"Xiao! Xiao! We have to leave! There's a fire! Please!"-Aether
"Aether, Aether I'm awake! What are you waking me for?!"-Xiao
Aether pointed to the fire and started coughing. Xiao rushed him to the corner and grabbed their bags. Xiao called 911, but the service line was full. Aether was coughing and ashes were everywhere. Xiao gave him his bag.
"Hey. Hey. Call your brother or my dad. They'll get someone to help."-Xiao
"I'm too scared to move."-Aether
"Did you put the phone chargers in the bag?"-Xiao
Aether nodded, Xiao giving him a kiss. He told him that's all they needed plus their books.
Aether tried to call his brother, but he was at work. He sent a text to Lumine as well. Xiao did the same.
Suddenly, their part of the room started breaking apart. It was falling off. Xiao held on to the coughing blond as tightly as they could. They braced themselves for the long fall they were about to encounter.
The corner broke off. They fell with the piece that broke off, watching the rest of the college burn.
Xiao unfortunately survived with injuries. But Aether. Aether was unconscious because of his injuries. Xiao finally understood why the crowd was there. They hated the idea of college with diversity and thought the only colleges should be in Sumeru since they dispose geniuses.

They stayed there until the whole building burned down. No one cared that there were people inside. Xiao cried. He cried to all the lives loss because of a stupid group of people.
Then his father came to pick him up. He said that Aether could stay with them for the time being. The raven didn't want to talk about what happened now. He grabbed both of their bags and put Aether in the car.

"The only college you ever gone to has gotten burned down because it wasn't in Sumeru?"-Zhongli
"That's what their shirts said yeah. They threw flaming torches inside our room. Everything was burning and Aether had burns on his arm."-Xiao
"I think you might need therapy if it becomes a problem."-Bosacius
"Yeah. When Aether gets treated. He still has to treat the burns and flesh wounds on his skin."-Xiao
A thud came from above them. Then a scream. Xiao ran upstairs to see what the screaming was.
Aether was wincing in pain. The burns were everywhere on his skin. He couldn't move. Lumine took this opportunity to treat his burns. But at every movement, he flinched. Xiao took his hands and intertwined them with his.
"Let Lumine treat the wounds. It's okay. We'll get therapy together afterwards."-Xiao
Aether's heart slowed down, that was until Lumine put alcohol on the burn. He started wincing and felt panicked. But Xiao's voice made it better.
"Want me to stay for a while?"-Xiao
Aether nodded, and tensed up again when he saw Lumine dip the cotton ball into a bowl.

Xiao gave him a hug, but not too tight. The blond smiled and fell back asleep.
"Aww. You guys aren't fucking in my brother's house for once. Just be asleep once he finds you."-Lumine
"Suck dick."-Xiao
"No thanks, I like women. And start sucking my brother's."-Lumine
Xiao flushed red. But he had to be mature. And plus, the sleeping Aether looked so cute.
"Take care of my brother for me. He did a lot for an education."-Lumine
Aether moved closer to Xiao since he was warmer. Xiao kissed him on the cheek as he adjusted himself so Aether could sleep comfortably.
"I love you so much." Xiao gave him a peck on the cheek.
Aether's face soften up and soon he felt no more pain. The burns were still there and he needed to cover them later. This spot was rather comfy and soft. Maybe staying here won't be bad after all.
