"Mommy..."-Aria
Aether was sleeping in a chair next to Aria's bed. Tears were stained on her bedsheets. He had tried to contact Xiao multiple times and had given up. There were multiple bowls and medical stuff on the floor and dresser. The little blond woke up her mother. Aether got up rather quickly.
"Will I die Mommy?"-Aria
"No Ari, no you won't. I promise you."-Aether
Aether started balling up his fists. Was she going to die? Before she even turns double digits? How did she even get sick? Is it something that he could fix? All these questions, and yet empty answers.
His eyes were red, yet they still showed the same soft eyes that wanted to protect everyone and everything he loved. Aether gave Aria a sad stare with those eyes.
"The infection on your back. Let me see it again."-Aether
Aria sat up and pulled up her shirt. Aether examined the back and frowned. It wasn't getting any better, despite it being treated almost every hour. So he treated it and told her to rest. She needs it.
Aether stepped out to find his lover. He was still focused on something.
"What are you doing?"-Aether
"Trying out something. What are you doing?"-Xiao
"Aria. She's sick. Probably from a deep cut and didn't clean it."-Aether
"So that's where you have been these three days. I thought you were angry."-Xiao
Aether just sighed and went back to Aria's room. Xiao followed quietly. He saw Aether sat down and look down at Aria in shame.
Aether started crying. Her face hurt his soul. She looked like she was in pain and couldn't move at all. Aether was tired and really had given up on himself.
"Maybe it's time to suggest a doctor for her?"-Xiao
"One came in already. They said that Aria needed to go to a hospital all the way in Sumeru. But my father said she was fine here. She needs professional help, but I can't bear to see her leave so soon."-Aether
"You have to let her go. You done all you could do."-Xiao
"But I can't. She's our life."-Aether
"Both you and Apollo want to see her thrive the most, don't you?"-Xiao
Aether held him tightly. Sure, he wanted to see her alive and laughing more than anything, but he wants to be there when she wakes up in the morning.
Maybe, it's best to let her go for a while.

Aether was angry. Xiao was just reading a book in his room.
"What? What did I lie about?"-Xiao
"You said that Aria would survive and that she needed it! They fucking killed her! They said she had no hope and didn't even ask us to pull the plug!"-Aether
Xiao closed the book. "They didn't even get consent from us?"-Xiao
"No! They called me telling me that Aria died from a organ shutdown, and then I heard the heart monitor beep. How are we going to tell Apollo?"-Aether
Xiao held him close to him. They hugged it out until Apollo came and ask why was Aether crying. Aether held him and told him it wasn't something he should worry about now. The little raven then try to eat Aether's hair. It kinda hurt.
"Mama. Sissy won't come back?"-Apollo
"Sissy won't come back for a while. Why, you miss her?"-Aether
"Mhm. Sissy said that she will give me a hug."-Apollo
Apollo balled up his fists and clung onto his mother's shirt. He fell asleep. Aether gave him a kiss on the forehead and smiled.
"Aria is watching you from above. The real sky. Please wish her a safe trip in your dreams."-Aether
Xiao kissed Aether on the cheek. He then laid out some wilting flowers. Aether set Apollo down on the bed. He took off his shirt so the little raven could be warm.
Aether heard ringing. His ears heard ringing. The room went white. Was he dying? Is this how death greets him? Is this how death greets everyone?
"...Aeth? Aether? Aether Viator?"-Xiao
"Huh? Yeah I'm fine. Spaced out for a second there."-Aether
Xiao gave him a hug. Aether cried and tightened the hug. He missed Aria so much.
And she missed her family.
