It was rare to get the kitchen all to yourself.
Especially in this place.
A few people (Clint, Steve, Bucky and Kate) were all on a mission and everyone else was apart of a group training session but after pretending to be injured during a spar then I was free.
Hey, before you judge me, training for three hours is hard!!
I dunked my spoon into the cup and swirled my tea before discarding the teabag. I continued to make my breakfast as I waited for my tea to cool.
Suddenly, a spawn of the devil appeared at my feet.
I jumped onto the stool nearby and watched it.
Its long legs spread across the floorboards, marking the territory as its own. Its dark shadow loomed around the chair legs making its appearance as large as possible.
Yes, I hated spiders!
Its legs started to bang across the floor as it continued to scuttle at lightning pace and disappeared under the oak table. I shrieked and jumped on top of the table, nearly knocking over my drink in my fear frenzy.
A hydra agent? Easy to take down.
An eight legged spawn of hell? NOO!!
Loud footsteps echoed around the hallway.
Great; now someone is going to see me standing on a table trying to evade death from the demon beneath me.
I looked up as the owner of the footsteps made their way into view.
Her red hair, soaking wet, was braided neatly resting down her back, leaving paths of water running through her shirt. A look of amusement spread across her face as she looked at me.
She was the only one who knew about my fear.
"What are you doing?" she asked, giggling slightly as she already knew the answer.
"Well, I live in this tower too you know. I can stand wherever I want, thank you very much!" I replied boldly, crossing my arms across my chest as I tried to keep up the tough act when in reality I was quaking with fear.
"Where's the spider, honey?" she asked gently, looking across the floor and slowly approaching me.
I looked down, feeling embarrassed that she had to save me again. I buried my hands in my pockets, trying to gain as much dignity as I could.
"It's under the table. Can you get it for me?" I muttered in a child-like manner as I refused to look at her, feeling utterly humiliated. Blush filled my cheeks and heat rose throughout my body signifying my embarrassment. I rolled the sleeves up my hoodie and tried not to look at my wrists and the scars that nested across my arms. I didn't need a wave of guilt at this time.
She picked up a small glass and a bit of paper that looked important but oh well!
She knelt across the floor and I leaned over the countertop, trying to see what she was doing. I heard the clunk of a glass hit the wooden floor and the swoosh of paper as it swept across it.
She slowly stood up, not wanting to release her prisoner.
The spider was seeking its vengeance as it aggressively tapped against its class cage with its 8 legs.
WHY?? Why do they need eight fucking legs??
I jumped from the counter and sipped my tea, trying to slow down my heart.
"Thanks." I mumbled, still refusing to look at her.
Her chest pressed softly against my back as her lips grazed across my scalp and my hair.
Loud laughing echoed around the room with the origin coming from behind us.
Me and Nat turned to see Peter red faced and crying with laughter.
"How are you dating Black Widow but scared of little spiders?" I turned away, not in the mood to argue with that twat.
(You can tell I'm British)
Nat's brows furrowed in rage. She stomped over towards him as I watched in confusion. She tipped the cup so the paper was on top. The spider raced around the edge of the cup with annoyance of this change.
She lifted the paper and tipped the cup causing the spider to land on Peter's sleeve.
His face distorted into complete fear and shock. A loud, high pitched scream emerged from his lips as he ran off, with the spider crawling up his shirt before it clung on his chest.
"And you're spiderman and you're fucking scared of spiders!" Nat screamed before Peter disappeared around the corner.
I burst into laughter and Nat ran towards me, sweeping me up into a large hug. Our laughter bounced around the room as we engulfed each other in our embrace.
"Did you see his face?" I gasped, recalling his look of pure terror.
Nat looked at me with teary eyes of laughter and nodded before we continued to laugh.
Let's just say he never teased me again!
I don't think is great but I can so imagine this happening! I'm probably the only person on Earth who isn't scared of spiders. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this!! By the way, if you have any suggestions or ideas leave them in the comments or DM me; I'd love to hear your suggestions. I love you all 3000!
