Sam, the kids and I sat there for another hour killing time until Tony and Stephen finally came out looking exhausted.
I almost jumped out of my seat until I remembered I had to teenagers curled into me. They walked over and sat down with us four.
"Well Cap congratulations, its a girl!" Tony says.
"Is she okay? I figured it wouldn't take that long to pull a tracker out." I say concerned.
"I will be honest with you Captain, it would have taken less time, but once we started getting in there, we had to be very careful because of how it was place. One wrong move and the possibilities of her losing memories and/or function of her body was a risk. But thankfully we were able to get it out with no problem. She is going to be in a major shock when she wakes up being in a new place." Strange says.
I just nod my head understanding. "When do you think she will wake up?" I ask.
"Not for a couple of hours maybe into tomorrow. It is hard to say." He says.
"Alright, well thank you so much. I appreciate everything." I say with a genuine smile.
"No problem at all Captain. If you need anything else, I am just a call away. I will be back in a few hours to check up on her." He says before opening a portal walking into it.
"Alright well since we have a little bit till she wakes up, why don't we go get some food?" I suggest.
"Sounds good, I am starving." Pietro says.
"Sam, Tony, you wanna join?" I asked them.
"Sure" they said getting up off the couch.
"JARVIS, pull up live feed of the cell and completely lock down the tower. No one enters without setting off an alarm." Tony says.
We then head out and go to get some food. I didn't realize how hungry I was until I ate 4 bacon cheese burgers and 3 large fries. After we finished up eating we headed back to the tower.
When we got there, we all chilled out and watched some tv waiting for Gemma to wake up. I got more and more nervous just wanting to meet her.
Tony had went down into the lab and was working on stuff when suddenly he came bursting into the living room.
"She's awake. Stephen just did her check up she's okay." he says.
I quickly get up and follow him in the room where she is. The closer I get I slow down so I don't scare her more. I finally gain the courage to walk in.
"Hi Gemma, I am Steve, do you know who I am?" I asked.
"Your one of my dad's. Where is papa?" She says starting to panic.
"Papa is getting some help after those bad people hurt him. So you know who both of us are then?" I asked.
"Yes, when I was with Hydra, they constantly were showing me pictures of you and telling me about you because they wanted me to hurt you. They took me away from papa because I was becoming his weakness and they needed him focused. I didn't wanna do anything. They kept training me like they do widows in the red room." She says.
"What about your mom?" I asked
"That bitch can burn in hell. I never knew her real name and never called her mom. It was always Queen Hydra. I wasn't wanted, just used to be a weapon." She says getting sad.
"Is it okay if I come over and lay in bed with you? You are save with me. You know that right?" I asked.
She nods her head and slides over. "When Papa started remembering himself, he would always tell me stories of you and him growing up and being in love. Those stories kept me going and kept me from hating you like Hydra does. I am so glad you saved me dad." She says giving me grabby hands.
I don't think twice and walk over laying down with her pulling her close. "I am so sorry it took so long for me to find you. But you are here and that is all that matters. You will not be hurt anymore. You are save I promise." I whisper against her head.
"When can I see papa?" She asked me.
"Well sweetie, you know how hydra would put you or papa into the cyro freeze?" I asked.
She nods her head looking up at me.
"Well dad was able to get papa to a place that can take out his trigger words so he is no longer the winter soldier. He is under the cyro right now with really nice people. But I can show you something cool. Ready?" I asked.
"Yes!" She says.
I pull out his dog tags and double tapped for this vitals to come up in my hand.
"You see these vitals? These are papas. You can see that he is being taken care of and is safe." I tell her.
"I miss him dad" she says quietly.
"I miss him too baby, but I promise he is coming back to us. In the mean time, I have some people I want you to meet. Are you up for it?" I asked.
"Are they nice?" She asks shyly.
"Oh yes. Well all except for uncle Tony, he is very sarcastic but he can be fun sometimes!" I tell her. I wrap a blanket around her and pick her up since she's smaller than I expected for a 14 year old but she has been malurised. She snuggles into me wrapping her small arms around my neck. I walk back to the living room and see everyone there.
"Hey guys, I want you to meet someone. Gemma, this is uncle Sam, uncle Tony, and this is your brother and sister Pietro and Wanda." I say point to everyone.
"I have more siblings?" She asks.
"Well technically they are your cousins, but I am taking them in as my own. Are you okay with that? Us being a big family?" I ask her.
"Yeah, I always wanted a big family" she says.
She keeps talking and Wanda does some magic to get her into comfortable pajamas. Gemma gets a little more comfortable and sits with Wanda and Pietro playing some video games.
"Sam, Steve, you need to come to the land" Tony says over the system.
"Gemma, can you stay here for a little bit? I will be right back okay?" I say to her.
"Okay" she says giving me a kiss on the cheek.
Sam and I make our way down the lab. When we get there, Tony is pacing.
"What's going on Tony?" I ask.
"You said her mother is queen hydra right?" He asked.
"Yes why?" I ask firmly wanting him to get to the point.
"I took some DNA and ran it through the system to find out if we could figure out who the mother was. And well it worked. I didn't believe it at first but then I did a couple other forms of DNA tests and got the same results" he says.
"And what are they?" Sam asks.
Tony turns his screen around and it feels like all the air inside of me is gone.
