I didn't realize I fell asleep until Bucky started waking me up.

"Doll, come on. Wake up for me. I have your soup ready for you." I hear him say softly.

I slowly start to sit up and take the soup from him.

"Thank you Bucky. I really appreciate it." I say.

"Of course doll. I will always take care of you." He says.

"Even after everything I have caused?" I say softly.

He lets out a sigh and slowly runs his hand throw my hair.

"Steve, you have got to stop blaming yourself. I am not blaming you so please don't blame yourself." He begs.

"I..I'm really trying not to but.." I start to say.

"No Steven Grant. No but." Bucky says firmly.

I just nod my head going back to eating m soup and watching tv.

A little later I started thinking of something that made me curious.

"Buck?" I say.

"Yes doll?" He says.

"How is my serum breaking down but yours isn't?" I asked.

"Well, from the charts Bruce has shown me and discussed about what happened, apparently, the bullets that hit me, and the one Peggy hit you with were laced with different poisons. The one that hit me was suppose to just poison me and kill me. The one that hit you was suppose to break down the serum and then release some chemical to make your death slow and painful." Bucky says while his voice is cracking.

"What happens now then?" I asked.

"Wanda was able to get all the hydra locations from Peggy's mind, so the remaining of SHIELD, the guardians, and avengers are going and taking down the bases. We have already taken down 3 and I think there are 2 left." Bucky says,

"I wanna help take them down." I say following with a cough.

"Steve, I love you but if you are sick when it comes time for the mission, you are not going with us. We still don't know what all you can or cannot do, so please don't fight me on this." He says tearing up.

"Okay" I say softly not wanting to fight anymore.

"Okay?" Bucky asks me.

"Yeah." I say turning to lay back down.

Bucky stands up and picks me up and lays down placing me on top of him.

He covers both of us with a blanket and wraps his arms around me holding me close to him.

"I love you Steve. We will get through this together." He whispers kissing my forehead.

"I love you too Bucky." I say snuggling close before falling asleep.

Over the next week Steve finally got better and I decided to take him on a date.

"Hey Steve do you have any plans today?" I asked.

"No, not that I am aware of." He says.

"Good. By ready in an hour!" I say walking out of the room.

I decided I was going to surprise him and get my hair cut. Looking at the long hair makes me feel more like the winter soldier and I want to feel like Bucky again.

I arrive to the barber shop and walk in.

"Hello, how can I help you today?" A gentleman asked.

"Hi, I uhh, really need a hair cut but I am nervous because it has been this long for a while." I say nervously.

"That's okay, come on here and take a seat. Do you have an ideas of what you want?" The guy asked.

"I want the side short and the top to still have some volume to it. If that makes sense." I tell him.

"Yep! I got it!" He says getting to work.

Having sharp tools close to me like this is making me anxious but I am pushing through it.

After 30 minutes, the guy spins me around and when I see my reflection in the mirror, it looked like the old me. I couldn't help but smile.

"I hope this isn't over stepping, but I really hope this makes you feel a little bit better about yourself now Mr. Barnes." He says.

"You know who I am?" I asked.

"Yes sir. My great grandfather used to serve with you. Told me stories about Steve Rogers and his right hand man James Barnes. When I found out what happened to you, I couldn't help but feel pissed off. But, I do have to say thank you to Steve and yourself, you both fought together and hid your love but now you can be free about it. If you feel like anyone doesn't support you two together, just know that my husband and I support you." He say with a kind smile.

"Wow. I..I didn't expect that but thank you so much. How? How did you know about Steve and I?" I asked.

"According to my great grandfather, you two weren't good at covering your relationship up like you thought. Plus, after Tony's party for Steve's birthday and your return, pictures of you two together are all over the internet. Everyone is buzzing in excitement about you two being reunited and are a strong example to the meaning of true love." He says.

"Whats your name son?" I asked.

"Charlie." He says softly.

"Well Charlie, thank you for treating me like I am normal. I don't get that a lot. And thank you for supporting Steve and I. I will make sure to come back here for business." I tell him and hand him his money.

After saying goodbye, I make my way outside and get on my bike heading back to the compound. I made sure to stop and get steve a white rose since he loves those so much.

As I walk back inside, everyone turns their head to look at me and their jaws drop. All of a sudden, Steve walks into the room.

"Hey, have you guys see Bu.." he starts to say before he looks at me and his eyes go wide.

I see a small hint of blush appear on his cheeks making me smirk.

"Hi doll, ready for our date?" I ask.

He smiles and approaches me and I hand him the flower.

He looks at me again taking in all my features.

"Do you like the cut?" I asked nervously.

"I do, but I am going to miss the long hair though." He says.

I tilt my head looking at him curiously. But before I can ask why he answers for me.

"It was nice to pull while I was railing you, but now I will just have to use your throat to hold you back into my mercy." He says smirking making me blush and turned on.
