[ Flashback a year earlier...]

You quickly found a seat in the bar, sat down, buried your face in your hands and ordered a drink to try and drown out your sorrows. The girl whom you thought was your forever had recently dumped you after you all you'd been through together and you weren't taking it that well. You were confused now, sad, disappointed, but mostly hurt. You ordered a drink, drank it and then just sat there and tried to stop thinking about her. As you were sitting there, something caught your eye. It looked like a doll sitting in one of the seats and so you went to see why it was there, because a bar is no place for children, so what was a doll doing there? But as you went to pick it up, you got the fright of your life. It moved!

"AAAGH!" You yelled and flinched back in shock and horror and then you heard her laugh.

"Sorry about that, i just do it to scare people" You realised it was actually an adorable little woman and your pulse was slowly returning to normal.

"W-well you scared me no doubt!" You chuckled as you were now seeing the funny side of it now.

"I'm Maya" She smiled and put out her hand for you to shake.

"I'm (y/n), pleased to meet you" You smiled back at her beautiful face.

"So, what are you doing here, (y/n)? It's a beautiful night, the Sun's still shining bright?" She enquired.

"Well, truth be told" You sighed as you got ready to spill out your problems to her. "The girl i thought i was gonna spend forever with broke up with me. It's confusing but mostly painful" You explained as you took another sip of your drink.

"Yeah, i feel you. I was recently dating a gargoyle looking man myself but in the end it just wasn't gonna work out"

"Yes! That's exactly how to describe her! A gargoyle!" You laughed and she laughed with you.

"Let's just forget about those two for this evening, shall we?" She smirked and you agreed. You both laughed, joked and got to know each other really well during then and you found she was really cool, and sweet and smart and you both really enjoyed your time together.

"Say" You said, still in high spirits. "It's still beatific outside. Why don't we ditch this place and go somewhere better?"

"I would like that" She smiled. "Where did you have in mind?"

You took her out to the seaport where you both took pictures, ate ice cream, laughed and just enjoyed yourselves as you both sat out on the pier and that was where you had your first kiss.

[ Back to present time...]

You were with her on a date to the gilded truffle. You both loved that restaurant and it was a big favourite for both of you, but tonight was to be an extra special date as you were about to pop the question. You had to admit, the thought of it did make you a little nervous but you really wanted this.

"Wow, time really flies by, doesn't it?" She grinned, taking a sip of her drink as you recalled your first date together.

"Yeah, it really does, doesn't it?" You laughed a little nervously.

"Something wrong?" She asked as she immediately noticed something the matter with you.

"No, not at all, it's just..." You got off your seat went down on one knee to her. "Maya, in full view of this restaurant, will you marry me?" You said with a sparkle in your eye.

She looked shock and stared at the beautiful ring you offered her, completely starstruck before giving her answer. "YES! Yes! Of course I'll marry you!" She laughed and you joined in and the whole restaurant cheered for you two as you picked her up and span her around before the waiter returned with your meal.
