A classic with 🧀 for @Mirade_graves thanks for requesting! Hope you like it.

You stared out of the kitchen window contentedly watching the sunrise as you sipped your hot beveridge, before sitting your mug on the counter as a smile formed upon your tired face. The neighbourhood usually felt serene and peaceful at this time of the day, people rising for work and kids getting ready for school, which is exactly why you enjoyed this hour as it gave you time to clear your mind before getting ready for these two things, which could be stressful when unprepared.

"And a good morning to you, (y/n)rino!" Your husband, Ned said in a cheerful voice as he popped his toast in the toaster and approached you near the counter. He gave you a small peck on the lips before diverting his attention to the golden sky outside. "God's creation is so beautiful" he said softly as he put his arm around your shoulder. "And I bet you're all set for our date tonight? I hope you won't be too tired once I pick you up from work, you could really use a break"

"That i could" you smirked as you locked eyes with him. "It'll be great to get some time together" you grinned as you put your arms around him. Your peace wasn't to last as you heard the sound of conflict coming from upstairs. It was your two adorable stepsons, Rod and Todd, behaving, well...not so adorably.

"Boys! Cut it out!" Ned shouted, hoping nothing was wrong upstairs. "I'd better check what's going on with them" he sighed. "That's the fifth time this week those pesky kids have been fighting. Wonder what's gotten into them" Ned left his coffee sitting on the counter as he went upstairs to his confront the "little angels."

You waited there for a moment before Ned came back to the kitchen with his arms around the pair. "Boys! What has gotten into you two? Fighting all the time!"

"But daddy!" Todd whined. "Rod stole my toy train!"

"Did not!" Rod sassed and stuck his tongue out at his little brother.

"What toy train?" Asked Ned with a frown. He put his hand in Rod's pocket and gasped. "HOLY...SHRIMP! I don't remember ever acquiring this model...OH MY GOSH!!! This belongs to reverend Lovejoy" his voice sinking and eyes going wide with horror. "I don't know what's going on with you two, but I'd better see an end to this rough housing soon! Comprende?"

The two just huffed and frowned at each other. "OK..." you finally said, feeling rather awkward from all the squabbling in this house. "Let's get you two cleaned up before the school bus arrives" you say as you clear that two out of the kitchen, giving your husband an uneasy smile. You didn't like how the house was always full of tension and arguing, picking it up from school probably.

Hours after all the tantrums from this morning, you had finished working and Ned picked you up as he always did. You couldn't shake off the thought of your two stepsons all day as you wondered what you could do to help them. You pondered quietly before Ned broke the silence with his usual bright way.

"I'll tell you what, I'm sure looking forward to going out tonight!" He said in a loud and positive tone. "Should take off some of the stress from this week! How does Italian sound?" He smiled at you and swerved out the way of a cat.

"As much as I'm looking forward to it, I'm not really sure about the boys" you sighed. "I mean, we don't even have a babysitter!"

Ned was about to open his mouth, but then realised you were right. "Hmm"

"Ned, I wonder if the kids behaviour could be from a lack of attention from parents, what with us both working all the time"

Ned just sat there, taking in all you were saying, but wasn't really sure what to do about all of it. "Any ideas?" He said, finally. "Getting on my knees with lifted hands is my surefire way to sort out all my problems"

"Of course" you nodded. "But I was thinking of something practical" you said as a smile lit up your face and it was as if you just had a light bulb moment. "Ned, how about..." You shared your plan with him and he listened with interest.

"A-re you sure? But what about our date night?" He asked in confusion at your plan and what you were sacrificing.

"It doesn't matter! Just pull in here!" You pointed to the kwik e mart. He stopped and you ran in and stocked up on a few things.

"Come on, boys!" Ned said in his usual cheerful demeanor. "Me and (y/n) are putting in a lot of effort here!" He threw a die at the array of board games on the floor.

The boys were still a bit huffy, but started smiling evilly when you accidentally hit Ned in the face as you took your turn to throw the dice.

"Whoops! Sorry, dear" you smiled, awkwardly and placed your hand on his shoulder. The doorbell rang. "Ooh! I'll get that!" You giggled and scurried to the door. You quickly paid the delivery boy and entered with pizzas! "Takeouts for everyone!" You exclaimed loudly.

"Yay!" Everyone cheered as you all started to pull away at the cheesey pizza.

"Ok! Who wants to roll next?" Ned's face was full of takeaway.

"Me!" "Me!" The boys said with wide smiles, both trying to grab the dice.

"Gotta take turns" you stuffed your face with more food as you gazed around at the happy faces, seated on the floor, getting into the spirit of game night. This over fancy restaurants ANY day.
