Sitting in the sand still clad in her pajamas, the huge star directly above her head slowly baking whatever piece of skin it could find, making it a shade darker as time passed slowly but Morgan could give a rat's ass. She would heal, she always did.

Her world  was not the same anymore and she needed to get herself together and figure out how she was going to handle it, beginning with the mating issue. Morgan had never loved anyone else besides Tarek and she wouldn't start now so she couldn't possibly see herself with anyone else. Maybe there was a slight chance, a spell or potion of some sort could get her out of this mating madness and she now felt determined more than ever to go to the ends of both worlds to find the solution. She belonged to no one and would now focus on loving herself even more and move on with her career.

As for the threat, to make a move against Morgan was to make a move against Mignon and as much as their relationship was strained, Mignon would cut down anyone who had utter disregard for her ruling or anyone who had her blood. Morgan felt a little better now, she would be protected by her mother and grandmother, even if it would only be to prove a point. "I'm going to be ok." she whispered to herself releasing a breath.

Getting the protection would be easy, but asking her mother for it would be a whole other challenge, but she was a grown up now thus she could handle her mother and bear with her shenanigans until whoever or whatever threatened her took it's last breath.

Morgan felt a presence stand beside her as she was deep in thought.

"You have to go home Morgan, back to the Underworld." Hillary stated, her eyes staring blankly at the horizon.

"Why? I can stay here with you so you can protect me. I can ask mother for protection too from her end so we can be ready." Morgan replied quickly, worry seeping into her voice as she looked up at her grandmother who still stared out at the ocean.

"And what of your mate? Shouldn't he be around to aid in your protection?" her head falling to look at her gorgeous granddaughter.

"I don't need a mate Nana, I'm pretty sure there's something out there that can get me out of this situation. If not, then I will stay with you on Earth because I don't mind being cast off from the Underworld." Morgan said in a huff.

"And there's the problem. You have to want to be the change for the demon kind, to make them united and have a purpose with your mate by your side. I'm only here because I have had my fill after three thousand years of reigning over them which is all now in the gutter thanks to your mother who overthrew me. I couldn't kill my child so I let her take the crown from me but I think it's time you toughened up peanut. You have to be better than us."

"What are you saying?"

"Well for starters, you need a whole lot of work on your abilities and to develop some new skills so I suggest that you begin at the The Federation. Only the finest warriors are trained there and leave more deadlier that a viper. I want that for you Morgan, to be the best because you are the best. You just need to realize it."

"Well what if that's not what I want?" Morgan asked angrily.

"I pray you do because I have already contacted the headmaster of the institute and they're expecting you. You begin tomorrow but you'll have to leave tonight as you need to make arrangements for your stay in the Underworld. They haven't seen their princess for so many years that you're presumed dead by some." Dumbfounded that her grandmother was now sending her back to one of the places she despised, Morgan continued to sit and listen in silence as Hillary also sat beside her and continued speaking.

"Listen, I nor your mother may be around for long to protect you and I would be more at peace to know that even if I am not here to save you, I'll be assured that my grand baby is crushing her enemies skulls in six inch heels. Take the Underworld by the balls Morgan, you can do it, just as you were that kinky-haired chubby ten year old that worked extremely hard and took over the world of ballet and had them all in a headlock of amazment at your beauty and talent. Now look at you, you left them wanting more of your light but you flourished and moved on to better things as one of Earth's best, rich beyond belief with everyone kissing the very ground you walk on. Be that girl again and take no prisoners."

Morgan said nothing as a tear slipped from her eye, her grandmother was right and she would be that girl again because was still that girl. The best. She only joined their hands together interlacing their fingers together as she rested her head on Hillary's shoulder. Double fuck! Morgan would miss her grandmother a lot but it was time for her to take flight and take up her mantle. Not only for her but for her people.

She was on edge for the rest of the day, couldn't eat nor take her afternoon nap, nothing. Her palms were sweaty and the headache from earlier had gotten worse because deep in her heart she didn't want to leave Earth and abandon the wonderful life she had made for herself so she could fight a weird and pretty lame ass monster then have some random demon following her around like a puppy, ready to answer her every beck and call.

Instead, she had to do what needed to be done then return as soon as possible to get on with her life, in due time she would ascend to the throne when Mignon ended her reign which would be long time from now. All Morgan could do was take a shower to wash the sand grains that got caught between her butt cheeks then relax on the sofa just watching random things on the television to distract her mind from her purpose.

Late in the afternoon, Jefferson stopped by the beach house to confirm that the matter from the previous night was handled and there would not even be an investigation so at least that brought some comfort. She didn't need nosy humans digging into her life and thank goodness Mrs Abberton left with the stripper by that time.

Jefferson excused himself to go in search of her grandmother who was in Morgan's bedroom at the time leaving her to just think about random things as she continued to skip through channels then landing on a marathon of a famous comedy sitcom. Time passed by slowly as Morgan closed her eyes trying trying to nap quickly but soon realized the time had come for her to go. She slowly got up from her couch then headed to her bedroom just in time to see her grandmother and Jefferson coming out of her bedroom, her granny looking a little disheveled while Jefferson looked stoic and neat as always.

Morgan squinted her eyes at them both in speculation but said nothing as they made way for her to enter the close the door behind her. She saw her suitcase before her bed and she knew her grandmother put extra clothes and baked goodies she made earlier in there.

Slowly she changed out of her house wear and donned some grey sweatpants a mustard colour tank top and her brown Ugg boots then proceeded to put her curly mane in a messy bun atop her head as some unruly tendrils framed her face. She looked like how she felt so she could care less what anyone would think about their princess.

Grabbing her luggage and her purse she wheeled to the living room where a portal created using the power of four dark crystals towered at eight feet with a black center and bordered with a shimmering purple and lavender outline. There it was. She stopped at the entrance of the portal where Jefferson and her Nana stood, her face stained with tears as she wept uncontrollably. Morgan could feel her tears forming as she looked at Hillary.

"Stop it Nana or else you're going to make me start crying." Morgan urged, her voice trembling. Hillary calmed down a little and approached her granddaughter and held her face in her palms.

"I love you so much peanut. I don't regret bringing you here but I should have taught you more about yourself and our kind. You are now going as a sheep amongst wolves but I know in the end you will be the one to rule them all." she brought Morgan closer and kissed her forehead then connected their foreheads together.

"Don't be afraid Morgan, train harder than anyone else in the room. If that thing should surface, get a message to me quickly and I will be there to fight by your side. Protect the light inside you at all costs, it sets you apart from everyone else but will make you a bigger target however sometimes it's all you will need." Again, Morgan could only nod frantically as tears left her eyes and her throat felt too swollen to speak as Hillary whispered feircly to her, every word resonating in her mind.

Squeezing her hands Hillary hastily said, "The portal leads to the entrance of The Federation and the headmaster Jesse should be waiting for you. He was once my prodigy so I know he will have your best interest at heart so listen to him. Go on now child, go." ending with another kiss to her forehead.

"Goodbye Nana." Morgan croaked before taking her baggage in portal with her.
